CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Three teams of police arrested 21 people on drug charges Thursday and were searching for 13 others in the culmination of a 10-month investigation, according to the Franklin County Drug Task Force said.

Of those charged, two were already in jail on unrelated charges, one had made bond and the rest were in jail, the task force said.

One person was awaiting extradition from Maryland.

"This roundup is part of an ongoing investigation since September 2002," Franklin County Assistant District Attorney Angela Krom said.

She said the investigation targeted street-level and mid-level dealers in crack cocaine and marijuana.

Krom said undercover troopers, task force detectives and police informants made drug buys in the investigation.

Those arrested were processed at the Pennsylvania State Police barracks and then taken to District Justice Gary Carter's office in Chambersburg for arraignment, according to a task force new release.
