Five-day crusade for life, liberty begins Sunday

Starting Sunday, a five-day Life and Liberty Crusade will be held nightly at 7 p.m. under a tent erected at Grace Academy, 13321 Cearfoss Pike west of Hagerstown.

Three generations of the Merrill Ministry Team will preach and provide gospel music at all services. A children's crusade will be held on the grounds each night.

The event is sponsored by nine area churches which describe themselves as Bible-believing congregations. They include Victory Baptist in Boonsboro; Evangel Baptist in Hagerstown; Child Evangelism Fellowship of Waynesboro, Pa.; Chestnut Grove Bible Church, Keedysville; Kasiesville Bible Church in Mercersburg, Pa.; Greencastle (Pa.) Bible Church; Grace Bible Church, in Greencastle; Berean Bible Fellowship of State Line, Pa.; and Sharpsburg Bible Church.

Sunday's opening night will be followed by a friend-family night on June 30; children's night on July 1; neighbor night on July 2 and a patriotic "I Love America" finale on July 3.

The three generations of the Merrills include 17 family members, 17 different musical instruments, drama, preaching and family-style presentations.

The message will be delivered through dramatic readings, audio-visual and object lessons.

Crusade chairmen Ed Wade and Tim Fisler describe the event as a major effort to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ.
