Teens vie for Fire and Rescue Queen title

The Berkeley County Fire and Rescue Queen Scholarship Pageant will be held at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, June 28, at Tomahawk Elementary School.

The new queen will receive at least $500 in scholarships, flowers, a tiara, sash, jewelry and gift certificates.

The queen will be the goodwill ambassador for the Berkeley County Fire and Rescue Association. She will ride with the fire departments in parades, both locally and out of town; compete in March 2004 in the Apple Blossom Out of Town Honorary Fire Chief's Contest in Winchester, Va.; and make appearances throughout Berkeley County.

The contestants are:

  • Jessica Stickel, 16, the daughter of Glen and Beverly Stickel of Bunker Hill, W.Va.

  • Keshia Decker, 17, the daughter of Sandi and Walt Decker of Hedgesville, W.Va.

  • Leslie Hartman, 17, the daughter of Dawn and John Huffman of Martinsburg, W.Va.

  • Nicole Sencindiver, 14, the daughter of Tim and Suzette Sencindiver of Hedgesville, W.Va.

  • Erica Nichole Davis, 19, the daughter of Cheryl Ann Davis of Bunker Hill, W.Va.

  • Stacie Pedersen, 14, the daughter of Pat and Corinne Pedersen of Hedgesville, W.Va.
