Former Hagerstown City Councilman Larry A. Vaughn on Wednesday took his name off the list of registered voters for elections.
Vaughn was elected to the City Council in 1973, re-elected in 1977, then ran for re-election again in 1981 and was defeated. He has been a candidate for mayor or council in every city election since.
Vaughn said he decided he did not want to vote because he considers government leaders to be greedy and selfish, including the city government.
"I am all fed up," he said.
A Washington County Election Board official said a few times each year a voter will fill out paperwork asking to be taken off the list of registered voters.
