Marjorie H. Clark

Marjorie H. Clark, 98, of 10116 Sharpsburg Pike, Hagerstown, died Saturday, June 21, 2003, at Somerford Place in Hagerstown.

Born April 27, 1905, in Spartansburg, S.C., she was the daughter of the late Charles Y. and Cornelia Wilson McDowell.

Her husband, N. Cecil Clark, died in 1982.

She was a retired school teacher, having taught in the Spartansburg County Public Schools in Spartansburg.

She was a member of the Methodist Church in Spartansburg.

She is survived by one son, Dr. Cecil N. Clark of Smithsburg; and two grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a sister and a brother.

Services will be held in Spartansburg. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Garden in Spartansburg.

Arrangements are by Andrew K. Coffman Funeral Home in Hagerstown.

Bettie L. Ratliff

EVERETT, Pa. - Bettie Louise Ratliff, 74, of West Fifth Ave. and formerly of Lynchburg, Va., died Tuesday, June 24, 2003, at her home.


Born Jan. 17, 1929, in Bedford County, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Robert H. and Dorothy M. Kline Reighard.

She was a housewife.

She was a member of Everett Church of the Brethren.

She is survived by her husband of 23 years, Tom R. Ratliff; one daughter, Linda J. Evans of Broken Arrow, Okla.; one son, Michael R. Layman of Lancaster, Pa.; one stepdaughter, Mary Beth Miller of Ellicott City, Md.; one stepson, Perry M. Ratliff of Wilmington, Del.; one sister, Virginia G. Mostoller of Everett; two brothers, Harold Reighard of Cranberry, N.J. and Robert Reighard of Orlando, Fla.; and six grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, John C. Reighard, Bill Kline and infant Thomas Reighard; and one infant sister, Margaret Reighard.

A memorial service will be held Thursday at 6 p.m. at Louis Geisel Funeral Home, Bedford, Pa. The Rev. Beverly Swindell will officiate.

Burial will be private.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 4:30 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home in Bedford.

Arrangements are by Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Pa.

Pamela M. Hess

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Pamela M. Hess, 55, of Menno Haven Nursing Home, and formerly of Waynesboro, Pa., died Monday, June 23, 2003, at the home.

Born Aug. 16, 1947, in Waynesboro, she was the daughter of Angel C. Pugliese Hess of Waynesboro and the late Harold A. Hess.

She attended school while at The Woods in Langhorn, Pa.

She received many awards while participating in the Special Olympics in swimming.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by three sisters, Tracey A. King of Waynesboro, Pa., Deborah J. Ellis of Washington, D.C. and Autine D. Hess of Wasilla, Ala.; three nieces; one nephew; two aunts and one uncle.

A memorial service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, Waynesboro. Chaplain Vernon D. Isner will officiate.

Burial will be private.

There will be no public viewing; the family will receive friends Saturday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Menno Haven, Benevolent Care Fund, 2075 Scotland Ave., Chambersburg, PA 17201; or to a charity of one's choice.

Florence M. Rajtik

McCONNELLSBURG, Pa. - Florence M. Rajtik, 80, of 217 S. First St., died Tuesday, June 24, 2003, at Sunrise Assisted Living Facility in Exton, Pa.

Born Dec. 19, 1922, in Acosta, Pa., she was the daughter of the late John and Regina Grohal Kovak.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Rajtik, in 1992.

She worked at the IGA as a cashier.

She was a member of St. Stephen Catholic Church.

She was a member of Fulton County Medical Center Women's Auxiliary.

She is survived by one daughter, Kathleen Bean of Spring City, Pa.; one son, Tom Rajtik of Spring City; and one sister, Eleanor Leonard of Hooversville, Pa.

She was preceded in death by three sisters, Ann O'Connell, Helen Segal and Nellie Antenucci; and three brothers, Walter Kovak, Joseph Kovak and Francis Kovak.

Services will be Friday at 10 a.m. at St. Stephen Catholic Church. The Rev. Allan Thomas will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Altoona, Pa.

Visitation will be Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home, McConnellsburg.

Donald E. Dorsey

Donald Elisha Dorsey, 68, of 17744 Broadfording Road, Hagerstown, died Tuesday, June 24, 2003, at home.

Born Nov. 29, 1934, in Downsville, Md., he was the son of the late Elisha Columbus and Annie Camilla Weaver Dorsey.

He was a 1953 graduate of Hagerstown High School.

He was employed by T. J. Angelozzi Co. Inc. in Woodbine, Md., for the past 18 years.

He was a member of Downsville Christian Church.
