Compliance Office is starting Protective Treatment Program

June 20, 2003

The Hagerstown Code Compliance Office is starting a Protective Treatment Campaign involving enforcement of the city code requiring all chipping and peeling paint to be removed from exterior surfaces of all properties within the city.

The city is going to inspect the exterior of properties in the city and send violation letters to some property owners, said John Lestitian, chief of code compliance.

The city will work out a schedule for the property owners to fix the problem, he said.

More information can be obtained by calling the office at 301-739-8577, ext. 194.
