GREENCASTLE, Pa. - "Fore the Hungry," Friday, June 20, shotgun start at 8 a.m., Greencastle Greens Golf Course. The format is best ball. There will be prizes for the first three teams, closest to pin, longest drive and more. Lunch and gifts for all who enter and an opportunity to win a 2003 SAAB with a hole in one. WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Proceeds benefit Renfrew Institute, Friday, June 20, 6 p.m.,
Waynesboro Country Club. The event is open to the public. Menu includes Chesapeake blue crabs, steamed clams, Assateague clam chowder, Delmarva coleslaw, barbecued chicken, skipjack pasta salad, creamed corn bread and mixed-berry shortcake. There also will be a raffle, door prizes and a silent auction featuring a large number of items and services. Harpers Ferry outdoor festival
HARPERS FERRY, W.Va. - Saturday and Sunday, June 21 and 22. The event will feature the fifth annual Tim Gavin Downriver Race and a kayak rodeo on Saturday and the River to Ridge Triathlon and Attainment Race on Sunday. There also will be a riverside cleanup along the Potomac River early Saturday morning. The mission is to conserve and restore American whitewater resources. Admission is $5. Proceeds benefit Friends of the Shenandoah, Interstate Commission of the Potomac River Basin and Friends of the Blackwater.
