Alan L. Orndorff


MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Alan Lewis Orndorff, 57, of Martinsburg, died Friday, June 13, 2003, at his home.

Born Nov. 4, 1945, in Berkeley County, W.Va., he was the son of Leo Orndorff and the late Evelyn Talbott Orndorff.

He was the owner of Kirby's Dry Cleaners.

In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife, Beth Ann Ring Orndorff, and two sons, Chris Orndorff and Eric Orndorff.

A memorial service will be held Monday at 3 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, Martinsburg.

The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Donald T. Kinzer


WILLIAMSPORT - Donald Thorne Kinzer, 74, of 15553 Clear Spring Road, died Saturday, June 14, 2003, at his home.

Born Feb. 27, 1929, in Williamsport, he was the son of the late Charles Patrick and Mary Summers Kinzer.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Earlene Virginia Socks Kinzer, in 1953.

He was employed by the Maryland Machine and Foundry Co. in Hagerstown for 25 years.

He attended Calvary Temple in Williamsport.

He was a member of Medairy Lodge 140 AF&AM of Williamsport.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen Mongan Kinzer; two daughters, Linda L. Williams of Williamsport and Gloria J. McLean of Hagerstown; three sons, Donald W. Kinzer, Terry D. Kinzer and Tony A. Kinzer, all of Williamsport; a stepdaughter, Kathleen M. Teter of Gerrardstown, W.Va.; two sisters, Irene Kinzer of Williamsport and Betty Jane White Kinzer of Greensboro, N.C.; a brother, Roger D. Kinzer of Pinesburg, Md.; 14 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Tracy T. Kinzer, and a brother, Harold Kinzer.

Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Osborne Funeral Home, Williamsport. The Rev. Robert V. Robinson will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown.

The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home, which will open at 9 a.m.

A Masonic memorial service will be held Monday at 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Harriet V. Burns


MOUNT AIRY, Md. - Harriet Virginia Burns, 80, of Golden Years Assisted Living Center, and formerly of Bartonsville Road, Frederick, Md., died Friday, June 13, 2003, at Frederick Memorial Hospital.

Born March 6, 1923, in Frederick County, Md., she was the daughter of the late Meredith and Annie Crummitt Groshon.

Prior to her retirement, she worked for a number of years at American Optical Co. in Frederick.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Raymond F. Burns; six children, Stanley E. Burns, Mary S. May, Pat Alexander, May L. Burns and Linda Kuykendall, all of Frederick, and William E. Burns of Charles Town, W.Va; a sister, Mary Ketterman of Woodsboro, Md.; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Elizabeth Cline; a brother, William Crummitt; a grandson; and a niece.

Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, Frederick. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Frederick.

The family will receive friends Monday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Ralph L. Wolfe


WILLIAMSPORT - Ralph Leon Wolfe, 63, of 15808 Clear Spring Road, died Saturday, June 14, 2003, at Clearview Nursing Home, Hagerstown.

Born March 9, 1940, in Washington County, he was the son of the late Samuel Eli and Alice Marie Gladhill Wolfe.

He was employed by the Washington County Board of Education at Springfield Middle School in Williamsport, retiring in 2001.

He was a Protestant.

He is survived by a brother, Norman A. Wolfe of Clear Spring, stepchildren, a niece and two great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Linda D. Wolfe, and a brother, Samuel L. Wolfe.

Services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Osborne Funeral Home, Williamsport. The Rev. Robert V. Robinson will officiate. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Williamsport.

The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home, which will open at 9 a.m.




Richard W. Rawls


ATLANTA - Richard William Rawls, 76, of 3450 Evans Road No. 143, died Wednesday, June 11, 2003, at Atlanta Veterans Administration Hospital.

He was born March 25, 1927, in Hagerstown.

He was a graduate of Hagerstown High School.

He served in the U.S. Navy.

He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Tucker, Ga.

He was a member of the American Legion.
