Captains continue dominance of Suns

EASTLAKE, Ohio - Hagerstown left its offense on the basepaths on Saturday night, falling to the Lake County Captains, 2-0, in the South Atlantic League.

The Suns (34-31), now winless in six games against Lake County, left 13 runners on base, seven in scoring position.

Lake County (47-21) scored in its first at bat when Ricardo Rojas reached on a two-base throwing error by Kevin Kelly and scored when David Wallace ripped a double to right.

After the Suns loaded the bases in the top of the second without scoring, Lake county made it 2-0 when Ben Francisco led off with a home run.

Hagerstown got excellent relief pitching from Eric Threets, Jeremy Schmidt and Josh Habel, which held the Captains at shore the final four innings.

Hagerstown, in jeopardy of falling into third place on the final day of the first half, goes against Lake County twice today.

Brad Hennessey (0-1) gave up both runs in his Suns' debut.
