Charity softball game

FREDERICK, Md. - Saturday, June 14, 3 p.m., Harry Grove Stadium. This is the second annual "Day at the Ballpark" charity softball game between Frederick Police and firefighters from Frederick County agencies. Proceeds benefit the Frederick Police Activities League and Daybreak Adult Day Services. Father's Day chicken barbecue

WOLFSVILLE, Md. - Sunday, June 15, 11 a.m., Wolfsville Ruritan Park grounds, off Brandenburg Hollow Road. Take Interstate 70 to exit 42 (Myersville, Md.) to Md. 17 north to Wolfsville, then turn right on Stottlemyer Road, left on Brandenburg Hollow Road, park is ahead on the left. Longest Day of Golf

Sponsored by American Cancer Society, Monday, June 16, sunrise to sunset. Golfers are asked to raise a minimum of $100 registration fee per person. Golfers will be assigned to one of the following courses: Greencastle Greens, Beaver Creek, Black Rock, Locust Hill, Stone Bridge, West Winds, Whiskey Creek or Musket Ridge. Breakfast is provided at Denny's on Dual Highway in Hagerstown before the event. Green fees and carts are donated. Soft drinks and ice will be provided. If Washington County raises $20,000 from this event, Mike Barnes will shave his head on NBC's Today Show.
