Archie E. Green


THURMONT, Md. - Archie E. Green, 79, of Rocky Ridge Road, died Friday, June 6, 2003, at Frederick Memorial Hospital, Frederick, Md.

Born April 11, 1924, near Foxville, Md., he was the son of the late Grover B. and Lonnie Linton Green.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria Audrey Nicholson Green.

He retired from Ausherman Homes in Frederick as a finish carpenter.

He was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ where he served on the church council.

He was a member of Thurmont Senior Citizens.

He is survived by nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Jesse Green.

Services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Stauffer Funeral Home, Thurmont. Dr. James Fisher will officiate. Burial will be in Weller Cemetery, Thurmont.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Catherine Hull


KEARNEYSVILLE, W.Va. - Catherine Hull, 80, of Kearneysville, died Thursday, June 5, 2003, at Hopemont State Hospital.

Born Feb. 28, 1923, in Boswell, Pa., she was the daughter of the late George and Arena Fisher McCusker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Otho C. Hull.

She retired from the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Martinsburg, W.Va.

She is survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Plessinger, and two brothers, John McCusker and George McCusker.

Services will be Monday at 2:30 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, Martinsburg. The Rev. William C. Crowe will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens.




Virginia M. Mason


MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Virginia M. Mason, 92, of Martinsburg, died Thursday, June 5, 2003.

Born Sept. 10, 1910, in Redkey, Ind., she was the daughter of the late James E. and Cora Watson Smith.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John L. Mason.

She attended First Presbyterian Church and Adamston Methodist Church.

She was a member of Eastern Star.

She is survived by a son, Jim Clingan of Martinsburg, two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a grandson.

Services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, Martinsburg. The Rev. Robert S. Hill Jr. will officiate.

Burial will be private in Bridgeport Cemetery, Clarksburg, W.Va.

The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to First Presbyterian Church, Memorial Fund, 220 S. Queen St., Martinsburg, WV 25401.




Nathan L. Green


HEDGESVILLE, W.Va. - Nathan Lee Green, 24, of Hedgesville, died Friday, June 6, 2003.

Born Dec. 27, 1978, in Hagerstown, he was the son of Rocky L. and Sharon Biser Green.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by a brother, Donald Green of Hedgesville, and grandparents Pat Biser of Hagerstown, Russell and Darlene Crow of Smithsburg and Donald Green of London, Ky.

Services will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, Martinsburg, W.Va. Burial will be in Falling Waters Presbyterian Church Cemetery at Spring Mills.

The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.




Betty Clark


WARFORDSBURG, Pa. - Betty Clark, 75, of 1719 Mountain Road, died Tuesday, June 3, 2003, at her home.

Born Feb. 11, 1928, in Warfordsburg, she was the daughter of the late John Edward and Ethel Crawford Divel.

She was a homemaker.

She attended Pleasant Grove Christian Church, Warfordsburg.

She is survived by her husband, Albert Alan Clark of McConnellsburg, whom she married Jan. 3, 1949; two daughters, Jenny E. Mills of Warfordsburg and Bertha J. Shipway of Boonsboro; a son, Ross A. Clark of Hagerstown; five sisters, Verda Hewitt and Dorothy Black, both of McConnellsburg, Pa., Irene Booth of Warfordsburg, Helen Barr of Greencastle, Pa., and Mildred Luber of Westminster, Md.; three brothers, Charles Divelbliss, Lloyd Divelbliss and Carl Divelbliss, all of New York; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Wayne A. Clark, and two brothers, Herbert Divelbliss and Ralph Divelbliss.

Services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Pleasant Grove Christian Church, Warfordsburg. The Revs. Denver Plessinger and Belvy White will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Christian Cemetery, Warfordsburg.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 6 to 9 p.m. at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, McConnellsburg, which will open at 2 p.m. Visitation also will be Monday at 1 p.m. at the church.




Iola I. Lowman


Iola Irene Lowman, 98, of 1304 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown and formerly of 18 E. Maple St., Funkstown, died Friday, April 25, 2003, at Coffman Nursing Home, Hagerstown.

Born Jan. 20, 1905, in Funkstown, she was the daughter of the late Henry W. and Cora Iseminger Lowman.

She was a graduate of Columbia Business College in Hagerstown.

She retired from Pryors Medical Publishing Co. after 25 years of service.

She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Funkstown.
