Margaret J. Kurlick

Margaret Jeanette Kurlick, 82, of 1639 Langley Drive in Hagerstown, died Sunday, June 1, 2003, at her home.

Born Nov. 20, 1920, in Keedysville, she was the daughter of the late Jessie P. and Daisy M. Cooper Rohrback.

Her husband, Nicholas Kurlick, died Sept. 23, 1988.

She was a 1939 graduate of Brunswick (Md.) High School.

She retired from Western Electric Co.

She was a member of Church of the Nazarene.

She is survived by one daughter, Colleen J. Walling of Crofton, Md.; two sons, Nicholas J. Kurlick of Havre de Grace, Md., and Craig A. Kurlick of Hagerstown; one sister, Loretta V. Lyons of Hagerstown; three brothers, Donald Rohrback of Forest Hill, Md., Dennis Rohrback of Severn, Md., and Lawrence Rohrback of Reisterstown, Md.; and four grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Garnetta Rudy.

Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Church of the Nazarene. The Rev. Steve L. Johnson will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Hagerstown.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, East Wilson Boulevard, Hagerstown.

Gail N. Croft

SMITHSBURG - Gail Nancy Croft, 49, of Smithsburg, died Saturday, May 31, 2003, at her home.

Born Oct. 31, 1953, in Brookline, Mass., she was the daughter of Milton and Selma M. Shear Kaufman of Boynton Beach, Fla.

She was a graduate of Brighten High School in Rochester, N.Y., and obtained a bachelor's degree in biology from Case Western University in Cleveland. She currently was enrolled in the master's program at Hood College in Frederick, Md., where she was studying thanatology.

She was employed at Washington County Hospital for 12 years as a patient advocate in the emergency department.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband, Jeffrey L. Croft, whom she married July 3, 1977; one daughter, Laura D. Croft of Smithsburg; one son, Brandon E. Croft of Smithsburg; and one sister, Joanne B. Kaufman of Annapolis.

Services were held Monday at Gerald N. Minnich Funeral Home, North Potomac Street, Hagerstown. The Rabbi Jonathan Maltzman officiated. Burial was in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown.

Roy F. Saunders

Mr. Roy F. Saunders, 75, of 14422 Battletown Road in Hagerstown, Md., died Sunday, June 1, 2003, at 2:05 p.m. at his home.

Born Nov. 28, 1927, in Welsh Run, Pa., he was a son of the late Wilbur and Vada Carbaugh Saunders.

Mr. Saunders was a truck driver for Horst Milk Transfer in Hagerstown for 30 years. Following his retirement, he worked as a security guard for US Security of Baltimore, Md.

He was a U.S. Army veteran and served with the 82nd Airborne Division.

Surviving are his wife, Betty J. Christy Saunders, whom he married March 9, 1951; a daughter, Roberta Fairall of Waynesboro, Pa.; five sons, Dale Saunders, Mark Saunders and Gregory Saunders, all of Hagerstown, Lee Roy Saunders of Blue Ridge Summit, Pa., and Daniel Saunders of Hancock, Md.; 17 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; eight sisters, Mary Bigler of Hagerstown, Ethel Clevenger of Greencastle, Pa., Anna Seif of Ft. Meade, Md., Margaret Groff of Las Vegas, Nev., Mabel Shipley of Artemas, Pa., Betty Middlekauff of Clear Spring, Md., Shirley Davis of Chambersburg, Pa., and Zelda Marie Lynch of Hancock, Md.; and two very special friends, Linda Smith of Martinsburg, W.Va., and Steve Weller of Maugansville, Md.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister and a brother.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 4, at 10:30 a.m. in Lininger-Fries Funeral Home, 47 N. Park Ave., Mercersburg, Pa., with Minister James A. Hostetter officiating. Burial will be in Meyers Cemetery, Mercersburg.

Viewing will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Almeda D. Warsing

HARRISONVILLE, Pa. - Almeda D. Warsing, 65, of 12905 Sipes Road, died Monday, June 2, 2003, at her home.

Born May 30, 1938, in Harrisonville, she was the daughter of the late Speer and Winifred Sipes Strait.

She retired from Sagner Sewing Factory in McConnellsburg, Pa.

She is survived by her husband, John N. Warsing, whom she married Jan. 17, 1969; two daughters, Terrie Gorman of Fayetteville, Pa., and Tracy Funk of Harrisonville; one sister, Maxine Lowe of Phoenix, Ariz.; two brothers, Robert Strait of Clear Ridge, Pa., and Coy Strait of Newport News, Va.; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Earl Strait and Eugene Strait.
