NEEDMORE, Pa. - Toni Geneva Hendershot, 53, of Garland Road, who died Monday, May 19, 2003, attended Pleasant Ridge Church of the Brethren in Needmore.




Patricia A. Topping


SALISBURY, Md. - The memorial service for Patricia Ann Topping "Trish," 51, who died Tuesday, May 20, 2003, will be held Friday, May 23, at 2 p.m. at Bethesda United Methodist Church, Salisbury.




Evelyn M. Aikens


WILLIAMSPORT - Evelyn May Straley Aikens, 81, of Williamsport, died Tuesday, May 20, 2003, at Washington County Hospital in Hagerstown.

Born Feb. 25, 1922, in Williamsport, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Laura Corby Straley.

Her husband of 50 years, George A. Aikens, died in 1994.

She retired as an assembly worker from Fairchild Industries.

She is survived by nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held today at 1:30 p.m. at Rest Haven Cemetery.

Arrangements are by Rest Haven Funeral Chapel in Hagerstown.

Eugene Wheeler


CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. - Eugene Wheeler, 70, of Charles Town, died Tuesday, May 20, 2003, at City Hospital in Martinsburg, W.Va.

Born Nov. 24, 1932, in Washington County, he was the son of Viola Virginia Wheeler Taylor of Charles Town.

He was a self-employed accountant.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by one daughter, Eugenia M. Stephens of Middletown, Md.; two sons, Michael Wheeler and Robert Wheeler, both of Florida; and four grandchildren.

Services and burial will be private.

Arrangements are by Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home, Charles Town.




Helen Fales-Charboneau


KENNESAW, Ga. - Helen Fales-Charboneau, 89, of Kennesaw and formerly of Hagerstown, died Thursday, May 22, 2003, in Marietta, Ga.

She was a homemaker.

She was a member of First Baptist Church of Kennesaw.

She was a member of Kennesaw Senior Citizens.

She is survived by her husband, Wayne Charboneau; one son, Milo C. Fales Jr. of Marietta; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Medford-Peden Funeral Home, Marietta. The Rev. Buddy Cameron will officiate. Burial will be in Mountain View Park Cemetery in Marietta.

The family will receive friends today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.




Arthur B. Pearson


FAYETTEVILLE, Pa. - Arthur B. Pearson, 70, of Beverly Healthcare, 3301 Lincoln Way East, and formerly of 387 W. Main St., died Wednesday, May 21, 2003, at Chambersburg Hospital.

Born April 30, 1933, in Hanover, Pa., he was the son of Rosella M. Feeser Pearson of Fayetteville and the late Earl K. Pearson.

He was a 1951 graduate of Eichelberger Senior High School.

He retired in 1995 from Nationwide Insurance Co. after 26 years as an agent.

He served in the U.S. Air Force.

He was a member of Pond Bank Mennonite Church in Fayetteville.

He was a member of Charles Nitterhouse VFW Post 1599 of Chambersburg.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Leah Jean Rock Pearson of Beverly Healthcare, whom he married March 3, 1957; two daughters, Jo Ellen A. Taylor of Moab, Utah and Jacquelyn A. Green of Fayetteville; one son, Jeffrey A. Pearson of Chambersburg; and seven grandchildren.

Services will be Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, Waynesboro. Pastor Marlin E. Ebersole will officiate.

Burial with military honors will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, Pa.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.




Viola F. Horner


MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Viola Frances Butts Horner, 85, of Martinsburg, died Thursday, May 22, 2003, at her home.

Born April 4, 1918, in Berkeley County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Willis D. and Rena Crowell Butts.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl M. Horner.

She attended Faith Tabernacle Assembly of God.

She is survived by three daughters, Ethel Mason of Martinsburg, Anna Anderson of Bedington, Pa. and Betty McDonald of Inwood, W.Va.; two sons, Vincent M. Horner Sr. of Berkeley Springs, W.Va. and Jerry E. Horner of Inwood; one sister, Carrie Fizer of Martinsburg; 18 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Geraldine Peggs; one infant son; two sisters and three brothers.

Services will be Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, Martinsburg. The Rev. Donald L. Preston will officiate. Burial will be in Tomahawk Presbyterian Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.




Robert G. Newcomer


WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Robert G. "Bob" Newcomer, 76, of 10972 Country Club Road, died Thursday, May 22, 2003, at his home.

Born Dec. 8, 1926, in Waynesboro, he was the son of the late Jesse G. and Albie Good Newcomer.

He was a 1945 graduate of Washington Township High School.

He worked for the Waynesboro Country Club Golf Course.

He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and the Korean War.

He was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Waynesboro.

He was a member of the National Rifle Association, Disabled American Veterans Association and National AARP.
