Dorothy M. Wharton

SMITHSBURG - Dorothy M. Wharton, 94, of Emily Way, died Tuesday, May 20, 2003, at Reeders Memorial Home in Boonsboro.

Born Feb. 15, 1909, in North Attleboro, Mass., she was the daughter of the late Jeanette Lambert.

She was of the Catholic faith.

She was employed as a licensed practical nurse.

She is survived by one son, Raymond Wharton of Smithsburg; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Burial will be in Park Lawn Memorial Park in Rockville, Md., at the convenience of the family.

Nevin Cronise, Bertie Cronise

ORANGE CITY, Fla. - A memorial service for Nevin and Bertie Cronise, who died in Orange City on Nov. 17, 1998 and April 29, 2003, will be held Monday at 12:30 p.m. at Rest Haven Cemetery Columbarium south entrance, in Hagerstown.

Helen C. Hays

SAVANNAH, Ga. - Helen C. "Nancy" Hays, 94, of Savannah, and formerly of Hagerstown, died Sunday, May 18, 2003, at Sandsprings Landing in Savannah.


She was born in Washington County.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert E. Hays.

She was one of the first sworn Guardettes for Fairchild Aircraft Corp.

She was a Protestant.

She is survived by one daughter, Gwen Osborne of Savannah; one son, Herbert Hays of Shippensburg, Pa.; one brother, Lloyd Mills of Laureldale, Pa.; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one son, Richard Hays.

Services will be private.

Memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer's Association, 516 Drayton St., Savannah, GA 31401; or Hospice Savannah Inc., 1352 Eisenhower Drive, Savannah, GA 31406.

Arrangements are by Hubert C. Baker Funeral Home, Savannah.

Madeline M. Boissiere

THOMASVILLE, Ga. - Madeline May Boissiere, 91, of Thomasville, died Tuesday, May 20, 2003, at Hospitality Care Center.

She was born Feb. 1, 1912, in Hagerstown.

She graduated from Towson State Teachers College.

She was a retired teacher.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Hagerstown.

She is survived by her husband, Robert W. Boissiere, whom she married Nov. 22, 1945; one son, Robert W. Boissiere Jr. of Tallahassee, Fla.; and two grandchildren, Gabrielle Boissiere and Madeline Boissiere.

There will be no service; visitation will be Saturday from 2 to 4 p.m. at Allen and Allen Funeral Home, Thomasville.

Leila M. Stadtmiller

SUMMIT POINT, W.Va. - Leila M. Stadtmiller, 84, of Summit Point, died Wednesday, May 21, 2003, at Jefferson Memorial Hospital in Ranson, W.Va.

Born July 3, 1918, in Indiana, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Frank and Margurite King Pfieffer.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Rudolph D. Stadtmiller, in 2002.

She was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Charles Town, W.Va.

She is survived by four daughters, Judy Shea of Summit Point, Karen Toombs of Frederick, Md., Linda Ogletree of Fairfax Station, Va. and Andrea Stadtmiller of Martinsburg, W.Va; two sons, Rudolph D. Stadtmiller of Waldorf, Md. and Thomas Stadtmiller of Suisun City, Calif.; two sisters, Nioma Sackett of Elyria, Ohio and Arlene Hood of Indiana, Pa.; 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son, Peter Stadtmiller.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at noon at St. James Catholic Church, Charles Town. The Rev. George W. Pucciarelli will be celebrant.

Burial will be private.

The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home, Charles Town.

Sandra K. McCoy

Sandra Kay McCoy, 54, of 920 Pope Ave., Hagerstown, died Wednesday, May 21, 2003, at Washington County Hospital.

Born March 6, 1949, in Monaville, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Dewey A. and Madeline Vance Webb.

She is survived by two daughters, Deborah K. Esfahani of Ellicott City, Md. and Robin D. Ellis of Hagerstown; one son, Frank D. McCoy Jr. of Pottstown, Pa.; two sisters, Judith Roberts of Damascus, Md. and Sheila Jackson of Germantown, Md.; five brothers, David Webb of Alexandria, Va., Rich Webb of Narvon, Pa., Rodney Webb of Geigertown, Pa., Robert Webb of Elverson, Pa. and Dewey B. Webb of Pottstown; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Peck's Mill, W.Va.

The family will receive friends Friday from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. at Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, Hagerstown.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in care of Deborah K. Esfahani, 4801 Red Hill Way, Ellicott City, MD 21042.

Ann M. Karli

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Ann M. Karli, 90, of Manorcare Health Services, and formerly of 169 Highfield Lane North, died Tuesday, May 20, 2003, at Manorcare.

Born Jan. 13, 1913, in Lebanon, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Frank and Maria Gall Solie.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank J. Karli, in 1988.

She was a homemaker.

She was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Chambersburg.
