U.S. Marine Corps Cpl. James A. Mills has been serving in and around Iraq since February. He is a member of the VMU-1 Special Unit. Upon return to the United States, he will be stationed at Twentynine Palms, Calif. where his wife, Christine, lives.

A 1998 graduate of Clear Spring High School, he is the son of Shirley L. Mills of Hagerstown.

U.S. Air Force Tech. Sgt. Mark A. Wiley, 33, serves in Quality and Training Aircrew Life Support with the 436th Operations Support Squadron at Dover (Del.) Air Force Base.

A 1989 graduate of North Hagerstown High School, he is the son of Dorothy Wiley and Robert Wiley, both of Hagerstown.

He is married to Catrin Wiley, 32, of the 436th Staff Judge Advocates Office, also at Dover Air Force Base.

U.S. Army Pfc. Kevin Hurlbrink, 22, is stationed at Fort Bragg, N.C., with the 82nd Airborne Signal Battalion.


He is a 1999 graduate of Boonsboro High School. He is the son of Lynn and Christopher Jones of Keedysville, and the brother of Kelly Hurlbrink of Fort Belvoir, Va.

U.S. Army PV2 Kelly Hurlbrink, 19, is stationed with the 554th Engineer Battalion at Fort Belvoir, Va. She will graduate from Army Topographical School on May 29 and has received orders to Army Airborne School at Fort Benning, Ga. She then will be assigned to the 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg, N.C.

She is a 2001 graduate of Boonsboro High School. She is the daughter of Lynn and Christopher Jones of Keedysville, and the sister of Kevin Hurlbrink of Fort Bragg.

U.S. Army Private 2nd Class Justin C. Knight, 19, is serving with the National Guard 729th FSB of Hagerstown. He deployed with the unit on May 7 to Fort Dix, N.J., in support of Operation Noble Eagle. Knight graduated from basic training at Fort Jackson, S.C., on Nov. 14, 2002, and from advanced individual training at Aberdeen Proving Grounds, Md., on Feb. 25.

He is a 2002 graduate of Boonsboro High School and is the son of Rand and Wanda Knight of Boonsboro.
