W.Va. student competes in pageant

Jennifer Bennett, daughter of Shawn and Christine Farnham of Falling Waters, W.Va., will compete today in the 2003 Miss West Virginia Teen All American Pageant at Holiday Inn in Parkersburg, W.Va.

Each contestant will be judged in evening gown, swimsuit and personal interview. Contestants compete for an array of prizes, including $1,000 cash, jewelry, luggage, a $500 shoe wardrobe and more. This event will select West Virginia's representative to the 25th annual Miss Teen All American Pageant held in August at the Hilton-Miami Airport & Towers in Miami.

Bennett attends Hedgesville School, where her activities include reading, jogging and preparing for post high school.

The pageant is today at 3 p.m. in the grand ballroom of the Holiday Inn, in Parkersburg. Bennett's sponsors include Amvets Post 38 of Falling Waters, her parents and her grandmother, Judy, among others.

Miss Teen All American alumnae include Academy Award winner and Revlon spokesmodel Halle Berry, Tonja Walker and Gina Tognoni of "One Life to Live," Lynette Cole of CMT's "Ultimate Country Home" and NBC's "Weekend Vibe."
