Addison W. Rock

WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Addison W. Rock, 82, of 12133 Pen Mar Road, died Thursday, May 15, 2003, at Waynesboro Hospital.

Born Nov. 1, 1920, in Waynesboro, he was the son of the late Ira W. and Rosa Meckley Rock.

He attended Quincy, Pa., schools.

He was employed as a sheet metal mechanic for the Union Sheet Metal Workers, working in the mid-Atlantic states for more than 30 years, retiring in 1982.

He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.

He was a member of William Max McLaughlin VFW Post 695 of Waynesboro and National AARP.

He is survived by his wife, Maralee H. Smith Rock, whom he married June 17, 1942; one son, Barry L. Rock of Shady Grove, Pa.; one brother, Richard Rock of Mont Alto, Pa.; three grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by four sisters and four brothers.

Services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, Waynesboro. Pastor Matthew Meisenhelter will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery near Quincy.

The family will receive friends Monday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.

Jeanne E. Lichty

GREENCASTLE, Pa. - Jeanne Evelyn Snyder Lichty, 75, of 9333 Grindstone Hill Road, died Thursday, May 15, 2003, at her home.

Born Aug. 27, 1927, in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada, she was the daughter of the late Percy and Rachel Ann Rudy Snyder.

She was a homemaker.

She was a member of Five Forks Brethren in Christ Church near Waynesboro, Pa.

She is survived by her husband, the Rev. Lorne George Lichty, whom she married Jan. 11, 1947; three daughters, Gloria B. deHaan of Biggar Saskatchewan, Canada, Charlotte L. Reid of Orrtanna, Pa. and Marlene Y. Wenger of Greencastle; one son, the Rev. Lorne D. Lichty of Howard, Pa.; one sister, Helen Grenzebauch of Ontario; four brothers, Melvin Snyder of Ontario, Ralph Snyder of California, Ken Snyder of British Columbia and Lorne Snyder of Calgary, Alberta, Canada; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers.

Services will be Monday at 10:30 a.m. at Five Forks Brethren in Christ Church, Waynesboro. The Revs. Wilbur Besecker, Lorne D. Lichty, Kenneth Reid and Floyd Myers will officiate. Burial will be in Browns Mill Cemetery, Kauffman, Pa.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, Greencastle and Monday at 9:30 a.m. at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Five Forks Brethren in Christ Church, Building Fund, 9244 Five Forks Road, Waynesboro, PA 17268.




Henrietta G. Lehman

Henrietta "Sis" Gordon Kelly Lehman, 80, of 9 Haywood Circle, Hagerstown, died Wednesday, May 14, 2003, at Washington County Hospital.

Born Oct. 20, 1922, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Bernard K. and Elsie Gordon Kelly.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Kettering Lehman, in 1991.

She was employed by Funkstown Elementary School.

She was a member of Funkstown American Legion Post 211 Auxiliary, TOPS Club and Women's Thursday Night Bowling League.

She is survived by three daughters, Scarlet Lehman and Chantey Calandrelle, both of Hagerstown, and Cindy Pinto of Columbia, Md.; one son, John H. Lehman of Hagerstown; one sister, Edna Donegan of Williamsport; and four grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Dorothy Rohrer and Betty Delouney; and two brothers, Jack Kelly and John Kelly.

Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, East Wilson Boulevard, Hagerstown. The Rev. Jim Chevalier will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.




Danny E. Billings

HARPERS FERRY, W.Va. - Danny Earl Billings, 42, of Harpers Ferry, died Wednesday, May 14, 2003, at Jefferson Memorial Hospital in Ranson, W.Va.

Born July 26, 1960, in Union, S.C., he was the son of Nora Messer Billings of South Carolina and the late Carroll D. Billings.

He received a bachelor of science degree from the University of Maryland and a master's degree from Southern Wesleyan University.

He was a nuclear engineer for the Nuclear Regulatory Commission in Rockville, Md.

He served in the U.S. Navy.

He attended St. James Catholic Church in Charles Town, W.Va.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Sally A. Small Billings; three daughters, Shannon Billings of Darlington, S.C., Melissa Griggs of Hartsville, S.C. and Rebecca Griggs of Columbia, S.C.; one son, Joshua Billings of Rockfort, S.C.; two sisters, Linda Simmons of Woodruff, S.C. and Debbi Hughes of Michigan; and one brother, Donald Billings of Enoree, S.C.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 3 p.m. at St. Marys Catholic Church in Hartsville.

Burial will be private.

There will be no visitation.
