Army Pvt. Heather L. Wright, daughter of Patty A. and stepdaughter of Lon E. Zarger of Greencastle, Pa., has graduated from the food service specialist advanced individual training course at Fort Lee in Petersburg, Va.

Wright is a 2002 graduate of Greencastle-Antrim High School.

Marine Corps Warrant Officer Keith E. Gelsinger, son of Billie K. and Ronald E. Gelsinger of Chambersburg, Pa., is preparing to reboard ships of the USS Nassau Amphibious Ready Group while assigned to the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), based in Camp Lejeune, N.C.

Gelsinger is a 1991 graduate of Chambersburg Area High School and joined the Marine Corps in July 1991.

Navy Seaman Recruit Kayla K. Mentzer, daughter of Diane R. and Edward E. Mentzer of Waynesboro, Pa., recently completed U.S. Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command in Great Lakes, Ill.

Mentzer is a 2002 graduate of Waynesboro Area Senior High School.

Army Pvt. Jennifer K. McCleary, daughter of David E. McCleary of Chambersburg, Pa., and Katherine L. McCleary of Bedford, Pa., has graduated from the radio operator-maintainer advanced individual training course at Fort Gordon in Augusta, Ga.


McCleary is a 1999 graduate of Chambersburg Area Senior High School.

Marine Corps Reserve Sgt. Darla M. Pitts, daughter of Shirley A. Thomas and Daryl L. Mellott, both of Mercersburg, Pa., recently was called to active duty in support of Operation Enduring Freedom while assigned to Detachment 2, Ammunition Company, 4th Force Service Support Group (FSSG), home based in Topeka, Kan.

Pitts is a 1988 graduate of James Buchanan High School in Mercersburg and joined the Marine Corps in June 1988.
