William Hamilton


William "Frankie" Hamilton, 34, of 10818 Mapleville Road in Hagerstown, died Saturday, May 10, 2003, at Jefferson Memorial Hospital in Ranson, W.Va.

Born Feb. 12, 1969, in Hagerstown, he was the son of Frankie Hamilton and Delores Kauffman.

He was employed as a truck driver with Brunswick Excavating in Frederick, Md.

He was of the Baptist faith.

He was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 1136 in Brunswick.

He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Delores and Gary Kauffman of Hagerstown; father and stepmother, Frankie and Jamie Hamilton of Shepherdstown, W.Va.; paternal grandparents, Bruce and Fleeta Hamilton of Charles Town, W.Va.; and aunts and uncles, Beverly Kay and Jerry Hostler of Harpers Ferry, W.Va., Debbie and Ricky Hoffman of Kearneysville, W.Va., Dorothy Ault of Halltown, W.Va., Jerry and Carol Ault of Sandy Hook, Md., Donald and Bonnie Ault of Charles Town, Ricky and Tammy Ault of Brunswick, W.Va., and James Hamilton of Harpers Ferry.

He was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, George and Ruth Ault; and one uncle, Jesse Ault.

Services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Eackles-Spencer Funeral Home, 970 Washington St., Harpers Ferry. The Rev. Marvin Marcus Caton Sr. will officiate. Burial will be in Brownsville Heights Cemetery in Brownsville.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday and Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m.




James A. Harne


LIBERTY, Ky. - James Allen "Jim" Harne, 55, of Liberty, died Friday, May 9, 2003, at his home.

He was the son of the late Austin and Evelyn Snyder Harne.

He retired from Columbia Gulf.

He was a member of Noel's Chapel Church of God.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Sharon Land Harne; two sons, Scott (Teresa) Harne and Todd (Kristal) Harne, both of Liberty; two brothers, Rodney Lee Harne of Chocowinity, N.C., and Gregory Harne of Waynesboro, Pa.; two grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; one stepgreat-grandchild; and in-laws, Donald (Shirley) Land of Liberty, Jo (Richard) Colviand and Roger (Anita) Land of Campbellsville, Ky., and Sandy (Bill) Dehart of Winchester, Ky.

Services were held Monday at 2 p.m. at Mckinney-Brown Funeral Home in Liberty. The Rev. Leon Hendrix and the Rev. Bobby Eldridge officiated. Burial was in Noel's Chapel Cemetery.




Terry L. Barkdoll


ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - Terry Leon Barkdoll, 64, died Thursday, May 8, 2003, in Albuquerque.

He was born March 19, 1939, in Hagerstown.

He is survived by his mother, Constance Barkdoll of DeBary, Fla.; one daughter, Patricia Hicks of Louisville, Ky.; one son, Scott Barkdoll of Albuquerque; one sister, Sharon Blankenship of Atlanta; one brother, Michael Barkdoll of Hagerstown; and one grandson.

Cremation has taken place.

No services are planned.

Arrangements are by Sunrise Funeral Options, Albuquerque.




Frances R. Moser


WILLIAMSPORT - Frances Rebecca Moser, 88, of 16505 Virginia Ave., died Tuesday, May 13, 2003, at Homewood Retirement Center.

Born March 29, 1915, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Milton Edward and L. Pearl Deardorff Branthaver.

Her husband, Matthew George Ebersole, died in 1948.

She was a 1933 graduate of Greencastle (Pa.) High School.

She was employed by Fairchild Aircraft in Hagerstown for 31 years, retiring in 1979.

She was a member of Grace United Church of Christ in Greencastle.

She was a member of Queen Esther Chapter 3 Order of Eastern Star and UAW Local 842 Retirees, both in Hagerstown; Homewood Auxiliary in Williamsport; and AARP.

She is survived by one son, Eugene W. Ebersole of Williamsport; one sister, Vera B. Davis of Oak Ridge, Tenn.; and six grandchildren, Gretchen M. Ebersole and Megan P. Ebersole, both of Hanover, Md., Jessica L. Cline-Metzger of Arnold, Md., Noel M. Ebersole of Big Pool, Nathan I.B. Ebersole of Bowie, Md., and Adam M. Cline of Williamsport.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Garnett E. Branthaver and Luther F. Branthaver.

A memorial service will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Homewood Chapel, Williamsport. The Revs. Reginald L. Rice and Willard Rahn will officiate.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Osborne Funeral Home, Williamsport, which will open at 9 a.m.

Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Mt. View Cemetery, Sharpsburg. The Rev. Reginald L. Rice will officiate.

Henry Stoltzfus


DOYLESBURG, Pa. - Henry Stoltzfus, infant son of Emanuel and Amanda Byler Stoltzfus of 22230 Path Valley Road, was stillborn Thursday, May 8, 2003, at home.

He is survived by two brothers, Harvey Stoltzfus and Stephen Stoltzfus, both at home; maternal grandparents, Harvey and Emma Byler of Belfast, N.Y.; paternal grandparents, Samuel and Salina Stoltzfus of Licking, Mo.; and great-grandparents, Eli J. Byler of New Wilmington, Pa., Fannie Stoltzfus of Daniels, Pa., and Daniel and Lydia Zook of Dry Run, Pa.

Burial in Dry Run Amish Cemetery was private.
