National Pike Day events set

The annual Clear Spring National Pike Day celebration will take place Friday and Saturday.

The festivities will kick off at 5 p.m. Friday with free entertainment at the wagon train encampment at Mt. Calvary Church of God. A community dinner at the church - including spaghetti, coleslaw, rolls, applesauce, cake and beverages - will follow from 5 to 8 p.m.

The cost of the dinner is $6 for adults and $3 for ages 5 to 12. Those younger than 4 are admitted for free.

The church will host a community breakfast - including scrambled eggs, sausage, pancakes, coffee and juice - starting at 6:30 a.m. Saturday.

Cost of the breakfast is $4 for adults and $2.50 for ages 5 to 12.

The wagon train will depart at 9 a.m., and the Pike Day parade will start at Clear Spring High School at 10 a.m. A bake sale and chicken barbecue also will start at 10 a.m. at the Clear Spring Ambulance Club.

Tickets for the event's meat raffle are available at Town Hall. The drawing for four prizes will be held Saturday.
