Hoping for a dry spell

Maryland high school coaches are hoping today is the day they can finally kick the playoffs into gear.

Heavy rain and thunderstorms kept most events from being played on Friday and Saturday. The rescheduling of those games means this will be a busy week for those teams which advance through their tournaments.

Baseball and softball teams winning first-round games today will play their quarterfinal games on Tuesday, with the semifinal round played as scheduled on Wednesday.
