This week's Crime Solvers case for Washington County is the April 2 armed robbery that occurred at Michaels Arts and Craft Store at 17225 Cole Road behind the Valley Mall of Hagerstown.

Through a lengthy investigation, Washington County Sheriff's deputies have obtained a warrant for Robin Eugene Lewis, who is being sought on armed robbery charges.

Lewis, 35, is white, 5 feet 9 inches tall, 135 pounds with brown eyes and hair. He is known to drive a 1987 or 1988 gray Chevrolet Nova, which is in poor running condition and appearance, deputies said.

Deputies said a man armed with what police believe was a toy gun pulled off the robbery, slightly injuring a store employee in a struggle.

The robber hid behind an inside door at the store and accosted the clerk when he entered the back room, deputies said.

Witnesses said the robber was wearing a dark ski mask and carrying a maroon backpack.
