Board to hold meeting to discuss budget cuts

The Washington County Board of Education will hold a special work session Monday, May 12, at 9 a.m. in the board auditorium to discuss budget cuts.

School Board Member Roxanne R. Ober, chair of the finance committee, asked that school officials consider looking at different budget cut scenarios, such as cuts of $500,000, $1 million, $1.5 million and $2.5 million, to be discussed during the work session.

School Board President Bernadette M. Wagner said the School Board needs to look at different budget cut scenarios because it doesn't yet know the final amount it will receive from the Washington County Commissioners.
