Mabel M. Henderson

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Mabel M. Henderson, 89, of Martinsburg, died Friday, May 2, 2003, at Outlooke Pointe of Martinsburg.

Born Sept. 6, 1913, in Washington County, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Lula Brinkman Mann.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ersel W. Henderson.

She is survived by one son, Larry Henderson of Martinsburg; one granddaughter, Kristin Henderson of Martinsburg; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Pearl Spiker and Jessie Mann.

Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home, Martinsburg. The Rev. Paul C. Stanley will officiate. Burial will be in Rosedale Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mary E. Eby

HARRISONBURG, Va. - Mary Emma Showalter Eby, 90, of Harrisonburg, died Saturday, May 3, 2003, at Oak Lea Nursing Home in Harrisonburg.

She is survived by her husband, Ira E. Eby; three stepchildren, Eleanor Mumaw of Harrisonburg, Phyllis Showalter of Broadway, Va. and Robert Eby of Scottsdale, Pa.; three sisters; three brothers; two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be Sunday, May 11, at 2 p.m. at Trissels Mennonite Church near Broadway. The family will receive friends following the service.

Burial was private.

Gene T. Randall

Gene T. "Jim" Randall, 72, of Hagerstown, died Thursday, May 1, 2003, at his home.

Born July 3, 1930, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Cecil P. Randall Sr. and Venola B. King Randall.

He attended local schools.

He retired in 1985 from the Chessie Railroad, where he worked as a carman for more than 37 years.

He served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He received the Purple Heart.

He was a member of Virginia Avenue Church of God in Hagerstown.

He was a member of Red Men Club of Williamsport, Morris Frock American Legion Post 42 and Western Enterprise Fire Co. of Hagerstown.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Helen V. Mills Randall; one son, Michael G. Randall of Hagerstown; one sister, Phyllis M. Fridinger of Hagerstown; two grandsons; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Cecil P. Randall.

Services will be Monday at 10:30 a.m. at Virginia Avenue Church of God, Hagerstown. The Rev. Paul A. Harne and Pastor Don Stevenson will officiate. Burial will be in Parkhead Cemetery, Big Pool with full military honors by Morris Frock American Legion Post 42.

Visitation will be today from 2 to 4 p.m. at Gerald N. Minnich Funeral Home, 305 N. Potomac St., Hagerstown.
