Biglerville 8 No. 6 Greencastle 2

GREENCASTLE, Pa. - Biglerville scored six runs in the first inning and defeated Greencastle in a Mid-Penn Colonial game.

Brett Sellers went 2-for-3 with two doubles and an RBI for Greencastle (13-5).

Smithsburg 6, Middletown 1

SMITHSBURG - David Gouff hit a two-run home run in the fifth inning to lead the Leopards over Middletown (3-10).

Gouff finished with two hits and two RBI, T.J. Bowser added three hits and two RBI and Josh Daniels recorded his first victory for Smithsburg (6-8, 6-8). Daniels had seven strikeouts, and Brandon Fisher struck out four en route to his first save.

Martinsburg 4, Sherando 3

STEPHENS CITY, Va. - Jeff Horst went 3-for-3 with a triple, double and two RBI to lead Martinsburg on the road.


Justin Jackson went 2-for-2 with a triple and two runs scored for the Bulldogs (12-11), while starter Keith Holton (6-3) went 5 1/3 innings for the win.

Shalom Christian 17 Calvary Christian 3

MARION, Pa. - Evan Negley hit a three-run homer in the second inning as Shalom blanked Calvary in five innings.

Negley finished with two hits and five RBI, while Denver Martin, Greg Gayman, Josh Tracey and Simon Henry each had two hits for Shalom (8-0).

Broadfording 7 Highland View 4

Eight errors hurt Highland View in a loss to Broadfording.

Brad Childs allowed one earned run and had two hits for Highland View (3-4).


No. 3 Musselman 14 Clear Spring 0

INWOOD, W.Va. -Kristen Linton went 2-for-2 with two RBI as Musselman routed Clear Spring.

Sara Albright added a triple and a double for Musselman (16-3-1), while April Kees added two hits.

No. 5 Middletown 16 Smithsburg 0

SMITHSBURG - Middletown crushed Smithsburg with a barrage of 20 hits.

Emily Enders led the Knights (11-3, 11-3) by going 4-for-5. Abby Burtner and Jess Metzner each added three hits, while Erin Burtner, Andrea Riner, Jenna Strube and Taylor McCarty each had two hits.

Smithsburg fell to 6-8, 6-8.

Grace 10, Goretti 6

Susanna Hill and Elizabeth Perrow both went 3-for-3 and Hill scored three runs as Grace Academy defeated St. Maria Goretti.

Megan Cox added two hits for Grace (3-6).

Waynesboro 7 No. 9 Greencastle 4

WAYNESBORO, Pa. -Sandra Hall went 3-for-4 with three RBI and two doubles in Waynesboro's victory over Greencastle.

Amanda Mummert had two hits, Paige Tanner had an RBI triple and Kelly Carpenter also tripled for Waynesboro (8-9, 5-9).

Jess Statler was 3-for-4 with an RBI, while Lori Barnes had two hits and two RBI for Greencastle.

Berkeley Springs 2 Hedgesville 1

HEDGESVILLE, W.Va. - Julie Scherpf (8-4) pitched a complete game two-hitter to lead Berkeley Springs over Hedgesville in the Apple Valley League.

Amanda Willard went 3-for-4 and Jess Detrick added an RBI single for the Indians (14-9).


W.Va. State 3, Shepherd 2

VIENNA, W.Va. - West Virginia State held off Shepherd College for a victory in the opening round of the West Virginia Conference tournament.

Trailing 3-0, Brooke Small's two-run single pulled Shepherd within a run in the sixth. But the Rams (7-23) got no closer.

Shepherd faces Bluefield State at 10 a.m. today in a loser's bracket elimination match.

Post 10 8, Lions 1: Blake Roberts had two hits for Post 10.

Sharpsburg Little League

Lion's Club 13, Builders Assistants 10: Rodney Flora had a triple and a double for Lion's Club, while Cody Myers, Devon Mills and Eddie Seabright all had two hits. Seth Poffenberger had four doubles for Builders Assistants.

Conococheague Little League

Lions 12, Taylor's Trucking 5: Derrick Monroe, Tanner Malloy and Colby McCulooy each had two hits for Lions.

Lions 10, Post 202 2: Derrick Monroe, Tanner Malloy, Colby McCuloy and Andrew Moats each had three hits for Lions.

South Mountain Little League

Nationwide 10, Pete's Barber Shop 2: Adam Collins and Dustin Routzhan both had two hits for Nationwide.
