Louis L. Chaney

Louis Lee Chaney, 66, of 11809 Partridge Trail, Hagerstown, passed away Wednesday, April 30, 2003, at Washington County Hospital.

Born in Greenwood, Ind., on Saturday, June 6, 1936, he was the son of the late Louis Hassler and Dorothy Green Chaney.

He was the husband of Judith G. Chaney. They were married 41 years.

He was a graduate of the University of Maryland and was a member of the 1954 Terrapins football team. He was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity. He was a long-time member and investor at Beaver Creek Country Club. He was a member of the BPOE and a member of the YMCA.

He was former proprietor of A-1 Rent-All Inc. and proprietor of Big Top Canopy Company, also Lee Chaney and Associates. He was a part-time history lecturer at Hagerstown Community College.


In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughter, Cynthia Norton, Woodbury, N.J.; son, Brett Chaney, Frederick, Md., son, Steven Chaney, Olney, Md., son, Jeffrey Chaney, Hagerstown; and brother, Larry O. Chaney, Kitty Hawk, N.C. He also is survived by eight grandchildren.

Services will be held Saturday, May 3, at 2:30 p.m. at Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Boulevard North, Hagerstown, with the Rev. Benjamin Jones officiating.

Interment will be at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, Hagerstown.

Family will receive friends Friday, May 2, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Daniel W. Noll

WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Daniel W. "Dude" Noll, 59, of 107 W. Main St., died Tuesday, April 29, 2003, at his home.

Born April 12, 1944, in Waynesboro, he was the son of the late Raymond A. Noll Sr. and Betty J. Rowe Noll.

He attended Waynesboro schools.

He was employed by Landis Tool Co. in Waynesboro from 1964 to 1984.

He served in the National Guard.

He was a member of Faith United Methodist Church in Waynesboro.

He played on local softball teams.

He is survived by two daughters, Ginadee Knot of Salem, Ohio and Susan Cauffman of McConnellsburg, Pa.; four sons, Daniel Noll Jr. and Brian Noll, both of Waynesboro, Greg Noll of Salem, N.C. and Michael Noll of Zullinger, Pa.; one sister, Carol A. Roberts of Waynesboro; five brothers, Raymond A. Noll Jr., Paul J. Noll and Ralph E. Noll, all of Waynesboro, John I. Noll of Greencastle, Pa. and David A. Noll of Mont Alto, Pa.; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Jerry Noll.

Services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, Waynesboro. The Rev. John W. Shubert will officiate. Burial will be in Strang's Cemetery, South Mountain, Pa.

The family will receive friends Saturday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.

Lorraine M. Hott

HARPERS FERRY, W.Va. - Lorraine Marguerite Penwell Hott, 21, of Harpers Ferry, died Wednesday, April 30, 2003, at Jefferson Memorial Hospital.

Born March 22, 1982, in Ranson, W.Va., she was the daughter of Timothy Neil Penwell Sr. and Lorrie Ann Flasar and the stepdaughter of Angel Penwell, all of Harpers Ferry.

She attended Jefferson High School.

She was a member of Freedom Tabernacle Church.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband, Christopher Charles Hott; two brothers, Timothy N. Penwell Jr. and Travis D. Penwell, both of Harpers Ferry; three stepsisters, Ashley N. Thompson, Britney B. Thompson and Chelsea R. Thompson, all of Harpers Ferry; aunts; uncles and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Lorella M. Penwell, who helped raise her.

Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Jefferson Chapel Funeral Home, Ranson. Pastor Bruce Singhas will officiate. Burial will be in Edge Hill Cemetery, Charles Town, W.Va.

The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Ronald E. Poffenberger

HOUSTON - A memorial service for Ronald Eugene Poffenberger, 65, of Houston, who died Wednesday, March 26, 2003, will be Saturday, May 17, at 11 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, Boonsboro. A reception will follow the service.

Donald C. Sensenbaugh

Donald Clifton Sensenbaugh, 82, of 13418 Paramount Terrace, Hagerstown, died Wednesday, April 30, 2003, at his home.

Born Aug. 4, 1920, in Lantz, Md., he was the son of the late Lloyd Peter and Beulah Catherine West Sensenbaugh.

He retired after 41 years with the Western Maryland Railroad.

A veteran of World War II and the Korean War, he served in the U.S. Marine Corps.

He was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church.

He was a former member of the Association of American Railroad Superintendents, formerly served on the board of directors of the Community Rescue Service, a former member and past president of Longmeadow Lions; a member of American Legion Morris Frock Post 42 and BPO Elks 378.
