Police looking for man on theft charges

Hagerstown City Police are seeking help finding Clifton Forrest Glover Jr., who is wanted on an arrest warrant issued in December 2002.

Police said Glover, 30, is white, 6 feet, 180 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. His last known address was 750 Mount Orab Pike, Georgetown, Ohio.

Police said the warrant issued in Washington County District Court charges Glover with six counts of theft.

Police ask that anyone with information about Glover call police investigators at 301-790-3700, extension 236.

Crash causes traffic delay on interstate

One person was taken to Frederick Memorial Hospital with minor injuries after a three-vehicle accident Wednesday morning on Interstate 70 near the Frederick-Washington county line, according to Maryland State Police in Frederick.

The accident was reported at 7:33 a.m. in the eastbound lanes of I-70 just past the Appalachian Trial, causing delays heading up South Mountain, emergency and police officials said.


Local woman treated after crash in Pa.

GREENCASTLE, Pa. - A Hagerstown woman was flown to York (Pa.) Hospital Tuesday evening after suffering back injuries in a one-car accident Tuesday afternoon in Antrim Township, according to Pennsylvania State Police.

Nicole Moler, 18, no address given, was listed in satisfactory condition Wednesday, according to hospital spokesman Barry Sparks.

Moler was a passenger in a 1997 Mitsubishi Eclipse that crashed at 5:50 p.m. in the 6400 block of Guitner Road, police said. Police said Christopher Harmon, 24, of Mercersburg, Pa., was driving the Eclipse north when he swerved to avoid another vehicle that had stopped to turn into a driveway.

The Eclipse struck a 3-foot embankment, went airborne for about 20 feet and went another 120 feet before hitting a fence, according to police.

Police said Harmon got Moler out of the front seat and put her into the back of the car when she complained of back pain. He then drove her to Chambersburg Hospital, where she was airlifted out by Life Lion helicopter.

Moler was not wearing a seat belt, police said. Harmon was belted and was uninjured.

Truck driver hurt when rig rolls on I-81

GREENCASTLE, Pa. - A truck driver was treated for minor injuries at Chambersburg (Pa.) Hospital Wednesday after the tractor-trailer he was driving rolled over on Interstate 81 in Antrim Township, according to Pennsylvania State Police.

Vidal Otoneal Aroon, 38, of New York City was driving a 1996 Freightliner south at 3:19 p.m. when the front right tire of the rig blew, police said. Aroon lost control of the tractor-trailer, which went into the median and rolled over.

The accident happened about half a mile north of Exit 5, police said. Southbound traffic was detoured off the interstate at Exit 10 while the scene was cleared.

Pumps, Freon tank stolen from church

GREENCASTLE, Pa. - Two vacuum pumps, two refrigeration pumps and a Freon tank were stolen from a church property over the weekend, according to Pennsylvania State Police.

The equipment was stolen between 8 p.m. Saturday and 8 a.m. Monday from Trinity United Church, 29 East Ave., police said. The equipment belonged to Musser Mechanical of Mercersburg, Pa.

Man shot while turkey hunting

REDERICK, Md. - A Frederick, Md., man was shot in the back of the head while turkey hunting Wednesday, Maryland Natural Resources Police said.

Austin Baumgardner, 54, was shot while inflating a turkey decoy on private land off Old Frederick Road near the intersection of Devilbiss Bridge Road at about 7:15 a.m., police said.

Police are asking for the public's help in finding the shooter, who they said fired from about 50 yards away.

Baumgardner was treated at Frederick Memorial Hospital and released, a hospital spokeswoman said.

Third man charged in alley robbery

A third person was arrested Wednesday morning in connection with a March 10 robbery in Cramer's Alley, Hagerstown City Police said.

David Carl Sharrah, 46, of Crystal Falls Drive in Hagers-town, was charged with armed robbery, robbery, conspiracy to commit armed robbery, first- and second-degree assault and reckless endangerment.

He was being held at the Washington County Detention Center on $50,000 bond Wednesday night.

The victim, a Hagerstown man, told police he was in Cramer's Alley when four people he was drinking with that day at Meda's Tavern assaulted him at 3:20 p.m.

The victim told police one man picked up a rock and hit him in the head, knocking him to the ground. Once he was down, there was a struggle and the victim said he was held down while another man went through his pockets.

His wallet, which contained about $180, was taken, police said.

Already charged in the robbery are Darryl Lamonte Joyner, 41, no fixed address, and Kevin Anthony Washington, 46, whose address was unknown.

Stolen car found; two face charges

Police recovered a stolen Ford Mustang early Tuesday near Sharpsburg, according to a release from the Washington County Sheriff's Department.
