Rain reigns over Suns

April 26, 2003

There were a lot of fireworks at Municipal Stadium on Friday.

But that's all there was.

Rain cancelled the Hagerstown Suns' opening game with Savannah on Friday, but it didn't dampen the second of 13 fireworks shows they have scheduled for the season.

The Suns and SandGnats will try to kick their series off today, with a doubleheader and without the fireworks.

This is the only series Hagerstown and Savannah play this season, so Suns management will try to play all four games in the next three days.

NOTES - Jason Columbus is riding a nine-game hitting streak at Municipal Stadium ... Kevin Alexander is the Suns' hottest hitter over the last 10 games with a .364 batting average ... Suns pitching have struck out 95 in the last 10 games.
