CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. - A Martinsburg, W.Va., man has been charged with attempted murder and two counts of arson following a fire at a house in Bolivar, W.Va., last October, court records said.

Richard Lee Lippart, 37, of 2100 Farm Pond Lane, was charged Thursday with first-degree arson, third-degree arson and two counts of attempted murder, court records said.

On Oct. 11, a man who lived with a woman in the house at 116 Columbia Ave. in Bolivar went into the kitchen and noticed a large amount of smoke, according to Jefferson County Magistrate Court records.

The man and the woman exited the house and heard a man outside yelling, "that's what you get, Randy," court records allege.

The man and woman then entered the garage of the home, where they noticed an interior door was on fire and several portions of the man's truck were on fire, court records said.

After the fire was extinguished, the telephone rang in the home and the man recognized the caller to be the man who was yelling before, court records said. The man making the phone call said, "that's what you get for cheating me on the side job," and "the next time I see you, I'm going to kill you," court records allege.

Lippart was being held in Eastern Regional Jail Thursday night on $100,000 bond, jail officials said.
