SMITHBURG - Shawna Wilkes pitched a no-hitter and struck out 15 Monday to lead Catoctin to a 9-0 Monocacy Valley Athletic League win over Smithsburg.

Wilkes and Kelly Stiles both went 2-for-4 for Catoctin.

Alyssa Reed struck out five for the Leopards (3-5).

FSK 1, Boonsboro 0

BOONSBORO - Jessi Hammersla allowed three hits while striking out three and walking tow in Boonsboro's loss to Francis Scott Key.

S. Fulton 8, Tussey Mtn. 3

SAXTON, Pa. - Cajun Woodal hit a bases-loaded double in the fifth to help lead Southern Fulton to a Sideling Hill League win over Tussey Mountian.

Bethany Mallot went 3-for-4, drove in a run and stole four bases for the Indians (3-3), while Jenny Liggett and Kaylie Mallot added three hits each.

Brunswick 2, Middletown 1

MIDDLETOWN, Md. - LeEllen Lewis homered in the seventh to give Brunswick (5-5) the win over Middletown (7-3).

Williamsport 14, North 12

WILLIAMSPORT - Holli Bowers went 2-for-3 and scored three runs as Williamsport withstood a North Hagerstown rally for the victory.

Courtney Hutchinson went 3-for-4 and collected the victory in relief for Williamsport (5-7, 4-6).

Amie Hope and Sierra Routzahn had two hits apiece for the Hubs.

North Carroll 3, Frederick 1

HAMPSTEAD, Md. - Noelle Jones had two hits, including a double, but took the loss for Frederick (5-4, 4-4).

Broadfording 12-17 Grace 11-7

Leslie Brown went 2-for-3 with two RBI to lead Broadfording Christian Acdemy to a win in the opening game of a doubleheader sweep. Tara Shafer hit two doubles and drove in four runs for Grace.

In the second game, Tina O'Connor had two triples and drove in five runs while Dee Brown had two doubles and three RBI for the Lions (3-0). Susanna Hill had two hits for Grace (0-5).


Brunswick 4, Middletown 2

MIDDLETOWN, Md. - Justin Tucker pitched a complete-game three-hitter with 14 strikeouts and added an RBI double to lead Brunswick.

Matt Feldman went 2-for-3 and Tommy Blumenauer had an RBI double for the Railroaders (4-6).

Middletown falls to 2-7 with the loss.

Catoctin 13, Smithsburg 9

SMITHSBURG - Chad Wolfe hit two home runs and drove in four runs to lead Catoctin past Smithsburg.

Will Delawter and Danny Novak each added a solo homer while Delawter had two RBI. Zach Ausherman and Ryan Nesbitt also had two hits each for the Cougars (8-3).

Ryan Marquiss hit a three-run home run for the Leopards (3-5) and Brad Jennings added two hits and two RBI.

North Carroll 5, Frederick 3

HAMPSTEAD, Md. - Danny Kern had two hits and an RBI and Cory Rhodes drove in the other Frederick run as the Cadets (3-5) lost to North Carroll.

Clear Spring 4, Martinsburg 1

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Adam Mills went 2-for-3 with two RBI as Clear Spring defeated Martinsburg.

Justin Jackson drove in the lone run for Martinsburg (9-9).

FSK-Boonsboro suspended

Francis Scott Key's game at Boonsboro was stopped by rain after 4 1/3 innings with Boonsboro leading, 7-2. The game will be completed today, tentatively at 4:45 p.m.

Walkersville 8, South 5

Danny Leatherman struck out nine and had two hits in Walkersville's nine-inning victory over South Hagerstown.

Wes Anderson had a double, a single and four RBI for the Lions (5-3).

David Miner had a double and a single for South (8-4).

Grace Academy 7-12 Broadfording 2-13

Darren Sweeney, Ryan Myers and Mark Derby each went 2-for-4 to lead Grace Academy in the first game of a double header split with Broadfording Christian Academy.

Broadfording used 2-for-3 games by Ryan Myers and Matt Stine to win the nightcap. Danny Carver hit a solo home run for Grace (4-3).

Jefferson 2, Hedgesville 0

SHENANDOAH JUNCTION, W.Va. - Juwaan Holmes shut out Hedgesville (5-6) on a three-hitter while striking out four and walking three for Jefferson.

Shanon Cogan and Terry Mumaw had RBI singles for the Cougars (17-6).

Mercersburg 6-14 Blair Academy 5-4

BLAIRSTOWN, N.J. - Alex Laddbush hit a three-run homer in the first inning of Mercersburg Academy's doubleheader sweep of Blair Academy.

Laddbush also struck out 10 and walked one for the Blue Storm.


HCC 6-4 College of S. Maryland 4-2

LAPLATA, Md. - Chelsea Joliffe pitched two complete-game victories for Hagerstown Community College in a sweep of the College of Southern Maryland.

In the first game, Trish Douglas and Joliffe had two hits and scored two runs apiece as HCC rallied for three runs in the sixth to pull ahead to victory.

Adriane Mallow went 2-for-2 in the second game for the Hawks (15-8, 7-3).


National Little League

Long Meadow Exxon 13, AMVETS 3: 0James Jordan had two hits for Long Meadow. Wes Samples and John Huse had two hits for AMVETS.

Valley Little League

Total Lube 4, Post 211 3: Jerod Daniels hit a home run and Ben Daniels had two hits for Total Lube. Daniels and Daniels combined for 12 strikeouts.
