NEWVILLE, Pa. - Unfortunately for Chambersburg's softball team, all good things must come to an end.

The No. 1 Trojans' 117-game unbeaten streak in the Mid-Penn Commonwealth - a run lasting exactly seven years - was snapped by Big Spring 3-1 on Thursday night. Chambersburg's last conference loss was a 3-0 setback to Central Dauphin on April 17, 1996.

Big Spring pitcher Mallory Cohick earned the victory, holding the Trojans to one run on five hits while walking none and striking out out five.

Chambersburg (7-1, 7-1) put a runner in scoring position in each of the first three innings, but failed to score in all three.

Lindsay Tritle homered in the sixth inning to give Chambersburg its only run of the game, but it was too little, too late.

On Wednesday, Chambersburg had to rally for a 10-7 victory over Cumberland Valley, scoring six runs in the sixth inning.

Thursday, the Trojans' magic ran out.
