Milton A. Bloom Jr.
Milton Arthur Bloom Jr., 79, of 21321 Leiter St., Hagerstown, died Saturday, April 19, 2003, at the University of Maryland Hospital in Baltimore.
Born March 4, 1924, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Milton Arthur Bloom Sr. and Eva Lum Bloom.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth M. Bloom, in 1987.
He was employed by Hagerstown YMCA and Fairchild Aircraft.
He attended St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Leitersburg.
He is survived by three sons, Milton A. Bloom III and Terry L. Bloom, both of Hagerstown, and Gerald S. Boward of San Diego; a brother, Wilbur Bloom of Hagerstown; eight grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Gary W. Bloom, sisters and brothers.
Services will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. Patricia Hendricks will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.

Betty L. Spinks
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Betty Lee Spinks, 71, of Martinsburg, died Saturday, April 19, 2003, at Washington County Hospital.
Born April 2, 1932, in Berkeley County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Russell Lee and Virginia Shade Owens.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, James William Gregory Sr., and her second husband, Basil Elmo Spinks.
She attended Bethel Assembly of God Church in Hagerstown.
She was a member of Martinsburg VFW Ladies Auxiliary.
She is survived by a daughter, Linda L. Mowen of Hagerstown; two sons, James W. Gregory of Martinsburg and Craig W. Gregory of Hagerstown; a sister, Helen Conley of Martinsburg; seven grandchildren; a step-grandchild; eight great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; and her caregiver, Indra Sharma.
Services will be Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, Martinsburg. The Rev. Robert Revell will officiate. Burial will be in Paynes Chapel Cemetery, Bunker Hill, W.Va.

Michael D. Loya
CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. - Michael Dale Loya, 50, of Charles Town, died Thursday, April 17, 2003, at Winchester Medical Center.
Born March 4, 1953, in Laurel Point, W.Va., he was the son of Michael M. and Thelma Newbraugh Loya.
He retired from the construction industry as a welder.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Griffith; a daughter, Amber Griffith of Charles Town; two sons, Michael M. Frame of Core, W.Va., and Jesse J. Loya of Morgantown, W.Va.; two sisters, Debra Watkins of Reedsville, W.Va., and Pam Lewis of Morgantown, W.Va.; a brother, George Sickles of Morgantown; one aunt; three nieces; and seven nephews.
Services will be private.

Robert R. Whitesell
Robert Randall Whitesell, 80, of 13627 Overhill Drive, Hagerstown, died Friday, April 18, 2003, at Washington County Hospital.
Born April 16, 1923, in Lafayette, Ind., he was the son of the late Roy and Lola Randall Whitesell.
He was a graduate of Perdue University.
He was owner of Seibert Whitesell and Associates.
He was a member of Unitarian Universalist Church in Hagerstown.
He was a member of Fountain Head Country Club and the Maryland Society of Professional Engineers.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth McEwan Whitesell; a daughter, Susan W. Strauber of Grinnell, Iowa; a son, Robert R. Whitesell Jr. of Alexandria, Va.; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Alice Whitesell and Mildred Seale.
Services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. Valerie T. Wills will officiate.
Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown.
There will be no viewing.
