Celebrating Fatherhood

The Dads Connection of the Washington County Department of Social Services is sponsoring, "Celebrating Fatherhood: An Afternoon in the Park" Saturday, June 7, at Hager Park on Frederick Street in Hagerstown.

"Celebrating Fatherhood" encourages responsible fatherhood and promotes public awareness of the importance of fathers.

The event is designed to promote the ways fathers can enrich the lives of their children. Guests can enjoy an afternoon filled with carnival games, hands-on arts and crafts, storytelling, face painting, magic, music, food and more. Admission is free.

The Dads Connection is accepting donations from businesses to support the celebration. To donate or for information, call Amanda Holder at 301-791-4056.

End of life decisions

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - A seminar, "End of Life Decision Making: Advance Directives and Living Wills, will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, May 1, Greencastle Fire Activities Center. Dr. Kenneth Rictor and attorney Gregory Kiersz will participate.

Tumbling tots

NEWVILLE, Pa. - A new session for "Tumbling Tots" will be held every Monday from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m., beginning Monday, May 5, at Newville Area Community Center, 2 Chestnut St.

The six-week program will focus on basic tumbling and fundamental movements. All children ages 2 to 5 are welcome to attend and parents are encouraged to participate. The cost is $25. For information, call 1-717-776-4393.
