Clear Spring 5, Musselman 4

CLEAR SPRING - Josh Barnhart hit a pair of two-run home runs, including the go-ahead homer in the sixth inning, to put Clear Spring over Musselman Wednesday.

Adam Mills pitched six innings with six strikeouts for the win. The Blazers improve to 7-1 with the victory.

Chris Price hit a solo homer and Mike Cheeseman struck out eight in the loss for Musselman.

South 8, Brunswick 5

BRUNSWICK, Md. - Bryson Appel hit a three-run home run in the fifth inning for South Hagerstown as the Rebels defeated Brunswick in the Monocacy Valley Athletic League.

Robbie Peterson drove in two runs and David Miner had two hits for South (7-3).

Chambersburg 16, Big Spring 6

NEWVILLE, Pa. - Drew McGwin and Brandon Mummert had two hits and two RBI each in Chambersburg's victory.

Irvin Sleighter and Josh Frey knocked in two runs apiece while Cody Stinger, Tyler Brown, and Jared Olson each had two hits for the Trojans (7-1, 7-0).

Flint Hill 13, St. James 0

ST. JAMES - John Gahan and Cody BelCasto had the only two hits for St. James as the Saints (0-5, 0-4) fell to Flint Hill.

Waynesboro 11, Northern 1

WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Brock Emery hit a two-run triple and Mike Sanders had two hits and an RBI triple for Waynesboro as the Indians (8-1, 6-1) used an eight-run first inning to beat Northern.

Walkersville 7, Boonsboro 6

WALKERSVILLE, Md. - Danny Leatherman hit a two-run homer in the third inning to put the Lions on top and Jonas Brinks capped off the win for Walkersville (4-3) with an RBI double in the sixth.

Josh Harrison knocked in two runs with a single and Anthony Binkley hit a triple for Walkersville.

Keith Kellinger had two hits and an RBI for the Warriors.

Frederick 9, Century 8

FREDERICK, Md. - Chad Fisher hit a two-run single in the bottom of the seventh as Frederick scored a come-from-behind win over Century in the Central Maryland Conference.

Brian Lanning had three hits and scored four runs, Bill Gross had two RBI and Fisher had three hits with three RBI.

Jesse Highling pitched four innings of relief to get the win, retiring the last 10 batters to seal the win for Frederick (3-4, 3-4).

Greencastle 6, Trinity 4

CAMP HILL, Pa. - Brett Hoffman hit a two-run double in the bottom of the seventh inning with two outs to seal the win for the Blue Devils.

Jared Barkdoll also hit a two-run double and Nick Schreiber struck out five to record the win for Greencastle (8-2, 6-1 Mid Penn Colonial).

Smithsburg 7, FSK 3

UNION BRIDGE, Md. - Ryan Marquiss singled, doubled and tripled while driving in four runs in Smithsburg's MVAL victory over Francis Scott Key.

Brandon Fisher and Wayne Rumbaugh both had two hits and drove in one run for the Leopards (3-3, 3-3).

Jefferson 22, Goretti 4

Justin Dailey had three hits and Josh Simons hit a three-run homer to lead Jefferson past St. Maria Goretti.

Corie Gustines and Justin Ott added two hits each for the Cougars (12-5).

Mason Herman had two hits, including a solo homer, for the Gaels (3-6), while Kevin Brashears and Sean Engle also had two hits each.

Fannett-Metal 5, So. Fulton 4

FANNETTSBURG, Pa. - The Indians (1-5) were unable to overcome four errors in a loss to Fannett-Metal.


Frederick 1, Century 0

FREDERICK, Md. - Noelle Jones doubled in Kendall Blumenthal to score the only run of the game and eventually give Frederick the win.

Kara Robert pitched a complete game shutout, striking out six and walking none for the Cadets (4-2, 3-2).

Chambersburg 10, C. Valley 7

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Chambersburg used a six-run sixth inning to rally and defeat Cumberland Valley Wednesday.

Emily Swartz hit a bases-clearing triple in the sixth inning as part of the rally for the Trojans (7-0).

McConnellsburg 11-6 Hyndman 2-2

HYNDMAN, Pa. - McConnellsburg swept Hyndman in doubleheader action Wednesday.

In the first game, Stephanie Paylor, Heather Deshong and Kelly Johnston all had two RBI.

Darcy Everetts hit a grand slam to break a 2-2 tie and eventually win the game for the Spartans (5-3).

FSK 10, Smithsburg 0

UNION BRIDGE, Md. - Francis Scott Key held Smithsburg (2-4) to no hits in five innings to secure the win.

Brunswick 3, South 2

BRUNSWICK, Md. - South Hagerstown's Jamie Fowler struck out 11 batters but lost in a pitchers' duel with Brunswick.

Shippensburg 9, Greencastle 3

SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. - Greencastle lost to Shippensburg to drop to 5-4 on the season.

Walkersville 5, Boonsboro 4

WALKERSVILLE, Md. - Chelsea Trout had two hits and three RBI, including the game-winning RBI single in the bottom of the seventh inning as Walkersville rallied from a 4-2 deficit in the last inning.

Amanda Coe drove in three of Boonsboro's four runs with a two-run single and a sacrifice fly. Jessie Seabright and Caroline Woodhams added two hits.

Thomas Johnson 10, Linganore 2

NEW MARKET, Md. - Samantha Koehl homered to lead off the game and allowed two hits in a complete game effort for the Patriots.
