Eugene T. Collacott

Eugene Thomas Collacott, 82, of 1340 Woodland Way in Hagerstown, died Sunday, April 13, 2003, at Homewood at Williamsport.

Born Dec. 26, 1920, in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., he was the son of the late Albert H. and Rose E. Weismer Lenahan Collacott.

He was a 1938 graduate of Meyers High School in Wilkes-Barre, and attended the University of Scranton (Pa.) and Hagerstown Junior College.

He was employed by AT&T, retiring in 1984 after 42 years.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He was a member of Knights of Columbus 4th degree and Morris Frock American Legion Post 42; and past commander of Catholic War Veterans.


He is survived by three daughters, Nora Collacott of Sterling, Va., Molli C. Collacott of Hagerstown, and Jeannie C. O'Meally of Pine Beach, N.J.; and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one brother, John A. Lanahan.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 9 a.m. at St. Ann Roman Catholic Church, Hagerstown. The Rev. Thomas Polk will be celebrant. Burial will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at St. Mary's Cemetery, Wilkes-Barre.

The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, Hagerstown.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer's Research Center, 640 Jackson St., St. Paul, MN 55101.

Janice V. Sagle

Janice Virginia "Jan" Sagle, 82, of 31 Elizabeth St. in Hagerstown, died Monday, April 14, 2003, at Williamsport Nursing Home.

Born May 23, 1920, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Jack and Laura Elliott Ecibona.

She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, where she was a member of Altar Society, Catholic Daughters and Golden Age. She volunteered for St. Mary's Bingo.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Bill Sagle; one daughter, Linda Hartley of Hagerstown; one son, John W. Sagle II of Sharpsburg; two brothers, Arthur Ecibona and Jack Ecibona, both of Hagerstown; two grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Madeline Demmitt; and one brother, Earl Ecibona.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church. The Rev. George A. Limmer will be celebrant. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, East Wilson Boulevard, Hagerstown. Prayers will be recited at 7 p.m.

Donna Groghan

ROCKVILLE, Md. - Donna Groghan, 72, of Rockville, died Sunday, April 13, 2003.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert Groghan.

She was a member of Rockville Church of Christ.

She is survived by two daughters, Tongela Ingle of New Oxford, Pa., and Robin Blankenship of Hagerstown; two sisters, Ruth Henderson of Ijamsville, Md., and Sharon Douglas of Lordstown, Ohio; six grandchildren; one great-grandson; and nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be Tuesday, April 29 at 2 p.m. at Arlington (Va.) National Cemetery. Those attending are asked to assemble at the memorial gate entrance by 1:30 p.m.

Visitation will be Wednesday, April 16, from 9 to 11 a.m. at Pumphrey's Colonial Funeral Home, Rockville.

Lois L. Widmeyer

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - Lois L. Widmeyer, 96, of Fort Lauderdale, and formerly of Hagerstown, died Friday, March 28, 2003, at her home.

Born July 9, 1906, in Sara, Miss., she was the daughter of the late Dan and Susan Sides Wallace.

Her husband, Lester P. Widmeyer, died in 1986.

She had been a fashion model in New York.

She was of the Methodist faith.

Graveside services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Rehobeth United Methodist Cemetery near Hancock. The Rev. Duane Jensen will officiate.

Donald E. Pitsnogle

SMITHSBURG - Donald E. "Archie" Pitsnogle, 72, of Bradbury Ave., who died Wednesday, April 9, 2003, at his home, is survived by three sons, Donald E. Pitsnogle and Steven A. Pitsnogle, both of Smithsburg, and Brian E. Pitsnogle of Cavetown.

Gary W. Zimmerman

HEDGESVILLE, W.Va. - Gary Wayne Zimmerman, 40, of Hedgesville, died Sunday, April 13, 2003, as the result of a motorcycle accident.

Born Sept. 30, 1962, in Olney, Md., he was the son of George E. Zimmerman of Hedgesville, and Victoria E. Morris Zimmerman of Port Charlotte, Fla.

He was a member of the Warlocks Motorcycle Club.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by two sons, Garrett Zimmerman of Poolesville, Md., and Travis W. Zimmerman of Martinsburg, W.Va.; and aunts, uncles and cousins.

Services will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home, Martinsburg. The Rev. G. Edward Grove will officiate. Burial will be at 12:30 p.m. in Monocacy Cemetery, Beallsville, Md.

The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

William E. Brown

WEST MELBOURNE, Fla. - William E. Brown, 58, of West Melbourne, and formerly of Cavetown, died Thursday, April 10, 2003, at his home.

Born Nov. 30, 1944, in Greensburg, Md., he was the son of Otha Ray Brown and the late Edna Belle Brining.
