Katy Powell

Senior, Smithsburg

Led young Leopards team to second consecutive Class 1A state appearance. The Monocacy Valley Athletic League's career scoring leader averaged 23 points, nine rebounds, four assists and four steals. Will attend McDaniel College this fall.

Sarah Harris

Senior, Boonsboro

All-MVAL and All-County selection averaged 11.5 points and 15 rebounds for the Warriors.

Kacie Escamilla

Senior, Brunswick

All-MVAL selection averaged 15 points and 15 rebounds for Railroaders.

Tiffany Linn

Junior, Hedgesville

Led very young Eagles to a 17-5 season, averaging 11.5 points and nine rebounds.

Keisha Thomas

Junior, Jefferson

Earned honorable mention in W.Va. Class AAA. Averaged 13 points and four steals.


Coach of the Year

Mike Mathis


In his sixth season, Guided Lions to 24-1 record and first state title and state tournament appearance in team history. Went undefeated in MVAL.

Koffi Harrison

Senior, Walkersville

Athletic forward averaged 11 points and 11 rebounds while playing suffocating defense as only senior on Lions' title team.

Chelsea Trout

Junior, Walkersville

Sharpshooter averaged 16.5 points per game for Class 2A state champion Lions.

Dee Brown

Senior, Broadfording

Leader of a Lady Lions' squad that won MDCC and ACSI titles each of the past two seasons. Averaged 19 points, six assists, three steals.

Kira Mowen

Senior, Waynesboro

1,000-point scorer averaged 15 points, five rebounds and four assists for Maidens. Will attend Illinois this fall.

Kristen Waeber

Freshman, Middletown

Outstanding freshman led Knights to an 18-4 record by averaging 14 points per game, tops on a deep team.
