    7 p.m. Wednesday, April 30 - Young poets ages 8 and older are invited to read, write and discuss poetry and have refreshments.

  • Winners of the sixth annual 2003 Washington County Poetry Contest will be announced Wednesday, April 23, the birthday of William Shakespeare.

    The winning poems will be on display through May at Washington County Free Library, 100 S. Potomac St. in Hagerstown.

    A free reception honoring the winning poems will be at 7 p.m. Friday, May 23, at the Washington County Arts Council Gallery, 41 S. Potomac St. Winners will be asked to read their poems and will receive a volume of poetry.
