McKenzie A. Freshman


GREENCASTLE, Pa. - McKenzie Annalee Freshman, infant daughter of Janeen L. Stoner and Bradley L. Freshman of Greencastle, died at birth Sunday, April 6, 2003, at Harrisburg (Pa.) General Hospital.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by maternal grandparents, Allen and Lois Stoner of Greencastle; paternal grandparents, Richard and Kimberly Freshman of Greencastle; and paternal great-grandparents, Leonard Kuhn Sr. and Betty Kuhn of Greencastle.

Services will be Friday at 1:30 p.m. at Miller-Bowersox Funeral Home, Greencastle. Pastor Victor Miller will officiate. Burial will be in Brown's Mill Cemetery, Kauffman Station, Pa.

There will be no public viewing; the family will receive friends Friday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Harrisburg General Hospital, High-Risk Unit of Labor and Delivery, Eighth Floor, 111 S. Front St., Harrisburg, PA 17101.

Jason M. Kline


BOONSBORO - Jason Michael "Bub" Kline, 26, of Tusings Way, died Sunday, April 6, 2003, from injuries suffered in an automobile accident.

Born Jan. 15, 1977, in Hagerstown, he was the son of Cathy L. Palmer Kline Cohen and stepfather, Burt D. Cohen of Williamsport, and Clarence E. Kline and stepmother, Patti A. Kline of Falling Waters, W.Va.

He was a 1996 graduate of Boonsboro High School and Washington County Technical High School.

He was employed as an auto mechanic by Roy's Quality Car Care and Roberts Repair Center, both in Hagerstown.

He attended Church of the Redeemed and Inwood (W.Va.) Assembly of God.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by maternal grandparents, Jim and Betty Palmer of Boonsboro; stepgrandparents, Vivian Kline of Hagerstown, and Gerald and Kathryn Rohrer of Rohrersville, Md.; one stepsister, Lynnette Saunders of Summit Point, W.Va.; three stepbrothers, Adam L. Cohen of Anne Arundel County, Md., Richard M. Cohen of Austin, Texas, and J.R. Dodson of Inwood; and aunts, uncles and cousins.

Services will be Friday at 12:30 p.m. at Bast Funeral Home, Boonsboro. The Rev. Robert P. Buchanan will officiate. Burial will be in Boonsboro Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Gertrude L. McFarland


SOUTH MOUNTAIN, Pa. - Gertrude L. Burnett McFarland, 86, of Michaux Manor Living Center, and formerly of 508 S. Potomac St. in Waynesboro, Pa., died Friday, April 4, 2003, at the center.

Born Sept. 2, 1916, in Cincinnati, she was the daughter of the late Dr. Daniel C. and Flora W. Williams Burnett.

She was a 1934 graduate of Sharon (Pa.) High School.

Her husband, Abner K. McFarland, died in 1977. They were married July 8, 1939.

She worked as a secretary for Pennsylvania Power Co. in Sharon.

She was a member of Fairview Avenue Brethren in Christ Church in Waynesboro. She had attended Waynesboro Presbyterian Church and Hunting Ridge Presbyterian Church in Baltimore.

She was a member of Waynesboro Hospital Auxiliary, Waynesboro Historical Society, Daughters of the American Revolution, South Chapter AARP 2977 in Waynesboro and National AARP.

She is survived by one daughter, Jane L. Garrett of Lynchburg, Va.; two sons, Timothy A. McFarland and Thomas D. McFarland, both of Waynesboro; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one niece, Nancy Lazear of Naples, Fla., with whom she lived during the winter months.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Dorothy Harshman.

Services will be Friday at 6 p.m. at Waynesboro Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Charles B. Jessen will officiate.

There will be no viewing. The family will receive friends following the services at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Waynesboro Daycare Center, 1801 E. Main St., Waynesboro, PA 17268; or Compassion International, Colorado Springs, CO 80997.

Arrangements are by Cumberland Valley Crematorium, Waynesboro.




Hazel Egee


CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Hazel Egee, 86, of Penn Hall Nursing Center, and formerly of Philadelphia, died Saturday, March 29, 2003, at the center.

Born July 24, 1916, in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Archie H. and Marie K. Kirkgard Egee.

She was an insurance underwriter.

She was a member of St. James Episcopal Church in Philadelphia.

She was a member of the Hill Top Club in Philadelphia and was a Girl Scout leader.

She is survived by one brother, Edwin W. Egee of Chambersburg; two nieces; and two nephews.
