Billy J. Stanley


BOONSBORO - Billy Joe Stanley, 68, of 6541 Washington Monument Road, died Friday, April 4, 2003, at Washington County Hospital.

Born Dec. 19, 1934, in Clintwood, Va., he was the son of the late Dorothy Stanley Gregory.

He owned and operated Thomas & Son Awning Co. in Boonsboro for 51 years.

He was of the Baptist faith.

He was a member of McClellan Gun Club near Keedysville, Moose Lodge 2435 in Funkstown, Hagerstown Eagles Club and Buchanan Valley Gun Club near Gettysburg, Pa.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Patsy L. Rohrer Stanley; a daughter, Deborah K. Stanley of Boonsboro; a twin sister, Patricia R. Hillman of Coopersville, Mich.; and aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Bast Funeral Home in Boonsboro. The Rev. Curvin Stambaugh will officiate. Burial will be in Boonsboro Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.




Bonnie J. Plank


Bonnie Jean Plank, 69, of 389 Key Circle, Hagerstown, died Friday, April 4, 2003, at Washington County Hospital.

Born May 24, 1933, in Fiddlersburg, Md., she was the daughter of the late James Stewart and Violet Harris McNarin.

She retired in 1990 after 35 years as a telephone operator with C&P Telephone Co., Bell Atlantic and Verizon.

She was a member and past president of Funkstown American Legion Post 211 Women's Auxiliary, the Telephone Pioneers, Ladies of the Elks and Associates and Christian Women's Club.

She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Glenn "Pete" Plank; two sisters, Audrey Bussard of Williamsport and Joyce Barnes of Hagerstown; a brother, Conway McNarin of Churchville, Va.; a half-sister, Antoinette Morningstar of Clear Spring; a half-brother, Frank Riffee of Sun City, Ariz.; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a half-brother, Floyd Riffee.

Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. Monsignor Robert S. Passarelli will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.




Margaret R. Martin


Margaret Ronald Martin, 71, of Hagerstown, died Saturday, April 5, 2003, at her home.

Born Sept. 19, 1931, in Romney, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Guy Ronald and Martha Rebecca Cross Martin.

She was a retired personnel administrator for a chemical corporation.

She is survived by two nieces, Linda R. Crone of Hagerstown and Margaret S. Rose of Harrisonburg, Va.; five great-nieces and great-nephews; and seven great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Virginia Lou Shingleton.

Services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Shaffer Funeral Home in Romney. The Rev. Helen R. Woodward will officiate. Burial will be in Indian Mound Cemetery in Romney.

Visitation will be Tuesday from noon to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

June G. Haupt


MIDDLETOWN, Md. - June Gilbert Haupt, 80, of 9412 Frostown Road, died Friday, April 4, 2003, at Northampton Manor Nursing Center in Frederick, Md.

Born Sept. 14, 1922, in Harmony, Md., she was the daughter of the late Milton and Annie Babington Gilbert.

Her husband, Clifford E. Haupt, died June 1, 1999.

She was a member of Harmony Church of the Brethren in Myersville, Md.

She is survived by two sons, Michael E. Haupt of Middletown and Ronald E. Toms of Frederick; a brother, James Gilbert of Middletown; five grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

Services will be Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at Donald B. Thompson Funeral Home in Middletown. The Rev. Tracy L. Wiser will officiate. Burial will be in Harmony Cemetery in Myersville.

The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.




Marion E. White


MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Marion "Dee" Eleanor White, 77, of Martinsburg, died Friday, April 4, 2003, at her home.

Born March 23, 1926, in Virginia Beach, Va., she was the daughter of the late Samuel Melvin Dolph of Urbana, Ohio and the late Ruth Clara Johnson of Windsor, N.C.

She attended high school in Barstow, Calif.

She worked for Safeway grocery store for many years.

She is survived by her husband of 20 years, Warren W. White; a daughter, Maralee Jones of Apple Valley, Calif.; three sons, Lory Box of Oceanside, Calif., Jeffrey Box of Apple Valley and Perry Trowbridge of Barstow; two stepdaughters, Connie of Richmond, Va., and Laura of Martinsburg; two stepsons, Warren W. White Jr. of Hagerstown and William White of Tacoma, Wash.; a sister, Margie Dolph Dillingham; a brother, John Dolph; and 15 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Gerald Box; a sister, Revilla Dolph Jackson; three brothers, Melvin Dolph, Franklin Dolph and William L. Dolph; and one granddaughter.

Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home in Martinsburg. Pastor John Yost will officiate. Burial will be in Rosedale Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of the Panhandle, 122 Waverly Court, Martinsburg, WV 25401.




John L. Green


John L. Green, 50, of 331 S. Potomac St., Hagerstown, who died Friday, April 4, 2003, was survived by a sister, Rebecca E. Lange. He was preceded in death by a sister, Jeraldine E. Butts.
