Sierra Routzahn had three hits, including a triple, to lead North Hagerstown to a 7-5 win over Brunswick on Wednesday for the Hubs' first win this season.

Sara Austin had two hits, while Tiffany Funk drove in two runs for North (1-4).

Mandy Kaler led Brunswick with two hits.

Frederick 6, Westminster 4

WESTMINSTER, Md. - Frederick jumped out to a 4-0 first-inning lead and held off Westminster in the second half of the game to get the victory.

April Pryzdocki and Amelia Barnard each had three hits for the Cadets (2-0).

Catoctin 13, South 0

THURMONT, Md. - Shawna Wilkes tossed a three-hitter with seven strikeouts as Catoctin blanked South Hagerstown.

Wilkes helped herself out with an RBI double, while Kim Stiles and Jen Crager each had two hits and two RBI for the Cougars (4-0).

McConnellsburg 5 Southern Fulton 1

McCONNELLSBURG, Pa. - Amber Skiles hit a two-run double in the third inning to lift McConnellsburg past Southern Fulton.


Darcy Everetts pitched a complete game, allowing one unearned run and three hits for her second win this season.

Chambersburg 11, Carlisle 1

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Jen Swartz had three hits, including a three-run homer in the fifth inning, to lead Chambersburg past Carlisle.

Winning pitcher October Smith also had three hits and scored three runs for the Trojans.

James Buchanan 5, Fairfield 1

FAIRFIELD, Pa. - Jess Ross had a two-run double during a four-run fourth inning for JB.

Susan West tossed a complete game with eight strikeouts and just one earned run for the Rockets (2-2).

Martinsburg 11, Berkeley Springs 1

BERKELEY SPRINGS, W. Va. - Lauren Yurish had five hits to lead Martinsburg past Berkeley Springs.

Jessie Willard had two hits for the Indians (6-1).

Greencastle 13, Berm. Springs 2

GREENCASTLE, Pa. - Greencastle pounded out 18 hits against Bermudian Springs in the Mid-Penn Colonial Division clash.

Megan Tracey went 4-for-4 with a triple, double and three RBI to pace the Blue Devils (4-0, 2-0), while Serena Sheeder went 3-for-4 with a double and three RBI, Kris Root homered and tripled, Jessica Ritchey went 3-for-4 with a double, Jessica Thomas went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBI and Tracey Carbaugh had two hits and an RBI.

Jessica Stater (4-0) went the distance on the mound for Greencastle.

Williamsport 3, Boonsboro 1

WILLIAMSPORT - With the game tied 1-1 in the fifth, Williamsport's Holly Bowers doubled home Beth Ryan and Cathy Pulieri to break the game open. Heather Taylor also doubled for the Wildcats (2-2, 2-2).

Waynesboro 5, Gettysburg 1

GETTYSBURG, Pa. - Winning pitcher Miley Stymiest struck and nine batters and went 2-for-3 with two RBI to lead Waynesboro.

Jess Miller went 3-for-4 for the Maidens (2-1, 1-1), while Kelly Carpenter had two hits and two RBI.


St. John's-PH 3, Mercersburg 2

FREDERICK, Md. - Brendan Gilligan knocked in the game-winning run in the bottom of the eighth inning with a single down the third-base line to lead St. John's at Prospect Hall past Mercersburg Academy.

Ryan Blizzard of St. John's (7-2) set the game up for extra innings with a solo home run in the bottom of the sixth that knotted the game, 2-2.

Josh Edgin and Matt Rutherford each had two hits for the Blue Storm (0-1).

Walkersville 11, FSK 0

UNION BRIDGE, Md. - Cole Kidwell tossed a complete-game shutout, allowing just three hits and fanning seven as Walkersville strolled past Francis Scott Key in an MVAL contest.

Josh Jacobson had four hits, stole three bases and scored four runs, while Ray Dorsey added two hits for the Lions (2-2). Danny Leatherman had three RBI, and Dustin Kolb and Dan Dreisonstok each knocked in two.

Matt Edwards doubled for FSK.

Greencastle 8, Bermudian Springs 1

GREENCASTLE, Pa. - Greencastle overwhelmed Bermudian Springs with five runs in the fifth inning as the Blue Devils remained unbeaten.

Jared Barkdoll had a two-run double in the fifth, while Adam Wiestling drove in two runs on a single. Nate Kopp also had an RBI hit for Greencastle (5-0).

Hancock 5, Berkeley Springs 2

HANCOCK - Hancock's Tyler Younker struck out 10 batters and allowed no earned runs in the Panthers' win over Berkeley Springs (1-3)

Andy Morris had two hits and an RBI for Hancock (1-3), while Derrick Clingerman had a two-run triple.

Hedgesville 4, Clear Spring 2

HEDGESVILLE, W.Va. - Chris Butcher went 2-for-3 with a home run to lead Hedgesville (2-4) past Clear Spring (2-1).

Adam Mills recorded 10 strikeouts for Clear Spring in the losing effort, while Zeb Wells went 2-for-3 with a double.

Catoctin 7, South Hagerstown 6

THURMONT, Md. - Chad Wolfe hit a grand slam in the second inning and struck out six from the mound to lead Catoctin (2-2) over South (3-2).

Will Delawter struck out the final two batters to earn the save.

North 5, Brunswick 1

Trevor Hullinger had two hits, including a sixth-inning solo home run, and Matt Murray added two doubles to lead the Hubs.

Cole Bellon struck out six in four innings for North (1-3).

Ryan Carter addded two hits for Brunswick (1-3).
