Mail Call for 3/27

March 28, 2003

"The war isn't over yet and the first contract to clean up after the war has already gone out. It has gone to Halliburton, the company run by Dick Cheney before he became vice president. You might say this stinks, but others may say that it's just a coincidence. But under rule signed by Bill Clinton and overturned by George Bush, Halliburton wouldn't have been eligible for this contract because companies who have defrauded the government and overcharged them, will no longer be able to have government contracts. But under George Bush, companies that rip off our government, they are more than welcome to have more contracts with our government. George Bush is corrupt, Dick Cheney is corrupt and this war stinks."

"I am calling about the marquee at the Tri-State Church of God in Boonsboro. I find it very offensive that for some reason someone decided to put the Lord's name up there, 'Lordy, Lordy, the pastor is 40.' I find that very out of taste. I think someone needs to be more respective to people who revere the Lord's name."

"To the demonstrators: Instead of knocking down our country, why don't you help all those families of those who are in the war and try to make things easier for them? I am ashamed of you, I applaud all of our military personnel and pray for them daily. I didn't vote for George Bush, but I support him, our troops and our country. I love my country. I also thank God. Evidently you aren't aware of 9/11 and obviously you didn't lose anyone you love at that time. How can you still defend the Iraqis after seeing how the POWs were treated and tortured at the hand of the Iraqis? This is what you are doing by not supporting the military."

"There is something that I can't understand. I am a middle income wage earner, my wife doesn't work, but still live quite comfortably, but that's it. I don't understand why we need a tax cut at a time like this?"

"I want to say that I am ashamed of our leaders in the Williamsport area. James Myers Sr.'s house burned down and the town of Williamsport can't help these people get it cleaned up. We have went every avenue to try to get this cleaned up, but the town of Williamsport will not do anything. People need to help each other in this time of need."

"Does Security Road and Medway have a neighborhood watch? If not, we sure need one. If we don't have one, is there a number or someone to call to start one?"
