Kevin Anthony Washington, 46, of no fixed address, was returned to Hagerstown where he appeared before a Washington County District Court commissioner, Hagerstown Police Lt. Rick Johnson said.

Washington was being held at the Washington County Detention Center on $50,000 bond, court officials said.

He was charged with single counts of armed robbery, conspiracy to commit armed robbery, robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery, first-degree assault, conspiracy to commit first-degree assault, second-degree assault, conspiracy to commit second-degree assault, reckless endangerment, theft and deadly weapon with intent to injure, court officials said.

Police continued to look for Darryl Lamonte Joyner, 41, who they said was charged in warrants in connection with the same crime.

The victim, a Hagerstown man, told police he was in Cramer's Alley when four people he was drinking with earlier in the day at a nearby tavern assaulted him at 3:20 p.m.

The victim told police one man picked up a rock and hit him in the head, knocking him to the ground. Once he was down, there was a struggle and the victim said he was held down while another man went through his pockets.

His wallet, which contained about $180, was taken, police said.

Joyner was described as a black man, 6 feet 3 inches tall and weighing 180 pounds, police said.
