FREDERICK, Md. - The 7-year-old son of a motorcyclist who died after the motorcycle collided with a postal truck Monday was released Tuesday from Children's National Medical Center in Washington, D.C., hospital officials said.

Frederick City Police said Dennis Lee Stitley, 29, of Emmitsburg, Md., was driving his motorcycle northbound in the first block of Thomas Johnson Drive when he tried to pass a postal truck at about 5:28 p.m. The truck was making a left turn into a parking lot off the road, police said.

Lt. Shawn Martyak said the motorcycle hit the truck on its side with a "low-speed impact," and Stitely and his son were ejected onto the street.
