The Clantons

Lee R. and Velda Clanton celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Sunday, Feb. 2, 2003, at a dinner party hosted by their children, son-in-law, granddaughter and sisters at their daughter's home.

The Clantons were married Feb. 2, 1953, at Patterson Memorial Methodist Church in Baltimore by the Rev. Herbert L. Weaver.

Mrs. Clanton is the former Velda Elizabeth Robinette. She retired from the Board of Education in 1988.

Mr. Clanton served in the Navy during World War II and in the Army from 1947 to 1953. He retired from Mack Trucks Inc. in June 1987.

The Clantons have two children, Roy Lynn Clanton and Shirley Clark, both of Hagerstown, and one granddaughter and her husband, also of Hagerstown.

The Myerses

Ray A. and Wanda Myers of Greencastle, Pa., observed their 25th wedding anniversary Saturday, Feb. 22, 2003, with a celebration at Macedonia United Brethren Church in Greencastle hosted by their sons, Steven R. Myers, Derrick Myers and Shawn Myers of Greencastle, their sons' girlfriends, and Doug and Denise Timmons.


The Myerses were married Feb. 18, 1978, at the Church of God in Clear Spring by Pastor Robert Timmons.

Mrs. Myers is the former Wanda Hummer, daughter of the late Mary and Lewis Hummer Sr. She is a homemaker.

Mr. Myers is the son of Marilyn and J. Lester Myers of Greencastle. He is a truck driver for Food Lion.

They have one grandchild.
