Coach's outlook: "Our pitching potential should make us have a good team. Nick Adenhart, Ben Jordan and a few promising youngsters give us a good starting rotation. With some breaks, we can go pretty far in the playoffs. It won't be a cakewalk in the MVAL. All 10 teams in the league have at least one good pitcher. The champ could have five or six losses. There might not be too much difference between the first-place team and the tenth-place team."

Coach's outlook: "We are certainly pretty excited about this season. We have a number of players with varsity experience and feel good about that. We feel we've some quality pitchers and a lot of depth with 12 pitchers on staff. Our defense is going to be one of our strongest assets. Offensively we don't have a whole lot of deep ball threats, but we're going to put the ball in play and use our speed to score runs."

Middletown Knights


Coach: Mike Desimone, 7th year

Last year: 10-9, lost to Hammond in 2A West quarterfinals

Coach's outlook: "We're going to throw a lot of guys and get some good quality innings out of them. We should be decent defensively and I think offensively we will need to be aggressive and try to have some quality at bats. I think the biggest thing this year will be to do a better job of putting the ball in play."

Coach: Kurt Seibert, 5th year

Coach's outlook: "We'll be very strong up the middle. We have a very good pitching staff, and will be a good hitting club. We'll have to see how well the defense plays. We are going to be playing a very tough schedule so we'll have to be aggressive. It should be a real fun and exciting year."
