High-speed chase ends with crash in city


An early morning police chase Friday in Hagerstown ended after a man's vehicle careened into a car carrying two passengers, sending them both to the hospital with minor injuries, police said.

Adam Matthew Husk, 22, believed to be from Hedgesville, W.Va., faces 15 charges, including two counts of fleeing and eluding police, reckless driving, driving on a revoked license and three hit-and-run charges.

After Husk was arrested, he was tested Husk for alcohol at the barrack, but his .01 blood alcohol content was well below the legal limit of .08. Police said Husk's exact address was not immediately known.

The women who were in the Honda, Rebekah Ann Cook, 19, and Marquita J. Polhill, 19, both of Waynesboro, were treated and released, a spokeswoman at Washington County Hospital said.

Two women arrested on drug charges in city


Hagerstown City police arrested two women on drug charges following an undercover operation in the 100 Block of West Washington Street.

Loretta Mae Stine, 31, and Nichol Mariea Reed, 31, were charged with possession with intent to distribute crack, possession of crack, distribution of crack, possession of paraphernalia and conspiracy to distribute crack. Police had no fixed address for either suspect.

Both were arrested near the intersection of Walnut Street and Wareham Alley.
