Dieter T. Eseltine


MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Dieter Tomy Eseltine, 55, of Martinsburg, died Wednesday, March 12, 2003, at his home.

Born Aug. 22, 1947, in Munich, Germany, he was the son of Gisela J. Eseltine of Rockville, Md., and the late Ernest M. Eseltine.

He was in the furniture refinishing business.

He was a musician.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by one daughter, Jackie Pendelton of Erwin, N.C.; one sister, Patricia A. Lertora of Walkersville, Md.; two grandchildren; and two nieces.

Memorial services will be Sunday, March 23, at 3 p.m. at Jefferson Chapel Funeral Home, Ranson, W.Va. Chaplain Tom Baker will officiate.

There will be a reception following at the Lions Center, 310 N. George St., Ranson.




Anna M. Louden


MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Anna Mae Louden, 75, of Martinsburg, died Friday, March 14, 2003, at Canterbury Center in Shepherdstown, W.Va.

Born June 28, 1927, in Bunker Hill, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late David and Mary B. Collis Rowland.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert T. Louden.

She was retired from Berkeley County School Systems.

She was a member of The Salvation Army.

She is survived by one son, Thomas C. Louden of Atlanta, Ga.; one sister, Virginia B. Miller of Sharpsburg; one brother, Charles W. Rowland of Inwood, W.Va., and four grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Betty J. Cole.

Services will be Monday at 1 p.m. at South Berkeley Chapel, Inwood. The Rev. Michael Rolan will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, south of Gerrardstown, W.Va.

The family will receive friends today from 4 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Church of Nazarene, 401 High St., Martinsburg, WV 25401; or to The Salvation Army, 505 Virginia Ave., Martinsburg, WV 25401.




Raymond K. Wenger Sr.


CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Raymond K. Wenger Sr., 80, of 2434 Philadelphia Ave., died Friday, March 14, 2003, at his home.

Born Aug. 6, 1922, in Edenville, Pa., he was the son of the late Norman B. and Dessie Mae Little Wenger and stepmother Treacie Imler Wenger.

He was a self-employed farmer for 20 years. He worked for Cumberland Valley Co-Op, Chambersburg, for 16 years. He worked for Chambersburg Farm Service part-time for 11 years.

He attended Orrstown United Brethren Church.

He is survived by his wife, Janet Zullinger Wenger; one daughter, Kaye Payne of Chambersburg; two sons, Lester Wenger of Chambersburg, and Raymond Wenger Jr. of Greencastle, Pa.; one sister, Lucille Cunningham of Chambersburg; one stepsister, Daphney Upperman of Fayetteville, Pa.; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Grace Forrester; and four brothers, Garnet Wenger, Richard Wenger, Norman Wenger Jr., and Lawrence Wenger.

Services will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Orrstown United Brethren Church. The Rev. Robert Conway will officiate. Burial will be in Lincoln Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6 to 9 p.m. at Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home, Chambersburg, which will be open after 2 p.m. There also will be visitation on Wednesday from 9:30 to 10 a.m. at the church.

Jason L. Hypes


MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Jason L. Hypes, 23, of Martinsburg, died Friday, March 14, 2003.

Born Dec. 27, 1979, in Jefferson County, W.Va., he was the son of Ronald A. and Delores Hypes of Martinsburg, and Bernie and Michelle Walters Wolfe of Newtonville, N.J.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Crystal Penwell Hypes; one son, Jackson L. Hypes, at home; one sister, Kelley Wolfe of Mays Landing, N.J.; three brothers, Jeremy Jenkins and Shad Jenkins, both of Charles Town, W.Va., and Casey Hypes of Martinsburg; grandparents, Franklin P. Mitchell Jr. of Martinsburg, Jack Lee and Irma Hypes of Pasadena, Md., Carolyn K. and Bill Potter of Martinsburg, and Thelma and Grafton Staubs of Harpers Ferry, W.Va.; and great-grandmother, Joyce Hypes of Lookout, W.Va.

Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home, Martinsburg. Pastor Eddie H. Edmonds will officiate. Burial will be in Rosedale Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.




Joann K. Otley


INWOOD, W.Va. - Joann Kublawi Otley, of Inwood, died Friday, March 14, 2003, in her home.

She was the daughter of Alberta Sadler of Tabler Station, W.Va.

She was a graduate of Warren Wilson College in North Carolina.

She was employed for several years in administrative positions in northern Virginia.

She was a member of Bunker Hill Presbyterian Church.

She had been active in the local Read Aloud Program.
