Race Across America plans to go through Hancock

Hancock Police Chief Donald Gossage said Wednesday that Race Across America, a bicycle race, will run through town in June.

The race begins in California and ends in Atlantic City, N.J., Gossage said. He said race officials expect the race to go through Hancock on June 22 or 23.

Turnout good for festival

The turnout was good for the Hancock Winter Festival in Widmeyer Park last month, Town Manager Larry Logan said Wednesday.

The festival was sponsored by the Arts Council of Hancock.

Logan said money raised by the event will break even with its costs. He thanked Whitetail Ski Resort for providing a snowmaking machine for the festival.
