CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - John C. "Jack" Funk, 71, of 565 Lindia Drive, died Tuesday, March 11, 2003, at Harrisburg (Pa.) Hospital.
Born April 9, 1931, in Chambersburg, he was the son of the late John M. and Esther Crouse Funk.
He was a 1950 graduate of Chambersburg High School. He attended Shippensburg State Teachers College.
He owned and operated Jack's Exxon in Chambersburg. Earlier, he was employed by Esso on the Pennsylvania Turnpike. During his retirement, he worked at the Pennsylvania Welcome Center in State Line, Pa.
He was a member of West Side Brethren in Christ Church in Chambersburg.
He was a member and past exalted ruler of BPO Elks 600 of Chambersburg; past district deputy of Elks Lodge of Pennsylvania; a member of George Washington Lodge 143 F & AM, Burt J. Asper Post 46 American Legion and Marine Corps League, all of Chambersburg.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia A. Wyrick Funk, whom he married Dec. 27, 1968; three daughters, Carol Dilione of Nicholson, Pa., Sharon McCleary of Chambersburg and Nicole Moresca of Elysburg, Pa.; two stepsons, Thomas Johnston of Chambersburg and Cole Johnston of Shippensburg; one sister, Sally Ziegler of Milwaukee; and eight grandchildren.
