Frederick W. Chitty Jr.

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Frederick W. Chitty Jr., 84, of Menno Haven, and formerly of White Plains, N.Y., Fayetteville, Pa., and Boca Raton, Fla., died Tuesday, March 11, 2003, at Menno Haven.

Born March 17, 1918, in New Haven, Conn., he was the son of the late Frederick W. Sr. and Florence Fowler Chitty.

His first wife, Ellen Grainger Chitty, preceded him in death.

He was a graduate of White Plains High School and an honor graduate of Syracuse (N.Y.) University.

He retired in 1988 after 44 years as a registered architect with Eggers and Heggins Group.

He was a member of Greenwood Hills Bible Chapel in Chambersburg.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Jane Kegerize Chitty of Menno Village, whom he married April 4, 1958; two daughters, Linda C. Mullin and Barbara C. Burgess, both of Providence, R.I.; two sons, James M. Chitty of Gayles Ferry, Conn. and John P. Chitty of Jupiter, Fla.; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.


A memorial service will be held at a later date at the Chapel of Menno Haven.

It was his wish that his body be donated to the Humanity Gifts Registry in Philadelphia.
